is it common?
Hi guys,
I just got a silver Honda fit yesterday and when I was driving home yesterday from the dealer I realized whenever I step slightly on acceleration to about 2,000 rpm and release, it would drop back to 1,000 rpm very raidly. Is this normal? This is my first car and I do not know too much about cars so go easy on me
Thanks.

Sounds normal to me!
If your car is an automatic transmission, this is fairly normal behavior for any automatic. The transmission changes gears, engages/disengages the torque converter, etc all depending on what you're doing.
If your car is a manual transmission, then your engine speeds would drop because you are either slowing down, or you pushed in your clutch.
