car wash

it's been 48 days since i've washed mine. it's so dirty but i haven't had time. i'm gonna do it this weekend though.
i'd suggest you wash your car yourself to make sure it gets done right. drive thru washes have dirty things that slap at your car and scratch the paint. everything is better and safer when you do it yourself, and you can wax your car after.

Got my Fit in May and I hand wash once a week - the longest was two weeks. I've already waxed it twice. I am hating the cold weather because I can't keep it washed and cleaned like before. I have promised to not take it through the car wash if I can help it. I am hoping to get some warmer weather on Saturday so I can wash it up again.

I had a bad experience with a local drive-through ''brushless'' car wash. I was rear-ended while in line at the car wash by a man who didn't speak English and had no insurance. And then when I entered the car wash tunnel, I heard a thump sound and discovered upon exiting that the left front fender area of my car had caught on something inside the tunnel and ripped away from the car body about five inches! And of course the car wash had a large sign saying that they were not responsible. BUMMER!

Lovingly hand wash EVERY weekend (so long its not raining), wax once a month, clean engine bay once a month.
I will never ever ever take my car to a machine wash again.
I thoroughly rinse the car off first.
I usually use 2 buckets, one for the soap, and the other one has clean water to rinse the sponge thingy after every section of the car. I also rinse the whole car after washing every section so that the car is always wet and you dont get water marks. Then I dry it with a chamois.
