so wife and i were celebrating our 10th wedding annivarsary yesterday
and we went out on a soso long road trip a good 300miles or so driving
to where we met (college in a rural area) then back around the burbs for
dinner, then went downtown afterwards all in my FitS.

with my current car's setup (steering wheel setup, suspension, etc.)
i was not tired at all after the trip, neither was the wife. she didn't
complain about her usual lower back pain after driving or riding along in
my 06LegacyWgn.

car's awesome. she likes it too. was able to park downtown
in a pretty tight spot without getting dings either. went through
some major dips and bumps, cracks in the road (craters), etc. no issue.

it's a great car. best part is i enjoy driving it. how great is that?
enjoy the day with my girl + enjoy motoring while going place to place.

oh yah, forgot to mention... while going down the interstate through
the cornfields, my FitS was bombarded by bugs spattering all over the
front end.

so during my wash today, i used Wizard's BugRelease as i always do
prior to the soap app. basically after the initial rinse, spray the product
onto the bumper and all areas with bug spatter including the winshield,
let it work for a min or two before applying the car shampoo with your
wash mitt. comes off effortlessly.

Wizards Products:
Bug Release™ Spray-on Bug Remover
=

Awesome man.
That shows something about the Fit if you enjoy it as much as you do, considering what you have sitting in your garage

absolutely. it's a nice all-round everyday car. easy to drive, easy
to take care, easy on the pockets.

reminds me of those point and shoot cameras. it's really kinda
like that. you can just point the car in the general direction you want
to go with a general agenda and it will just handle the bad roads and
corners you throw at it easily/worryfree while still getting the great
results.

^^

went to target today with my 2 little kids and wife, large cooler box in
the trunk..and came home with over $125+ of households/groceries
including big pack papertowels and toilet paper saver packs, 12pack
drinks, etc. etc. etc. and still had some room to spare. wife
was amazed how much stuff my FitS can pack.

while i was checking the oil on all my cars and tire pressures, my son
noticed something i didn't really think about. he asked 'dad, why is your
fit's dipstick orange and others are yellow?'

'good observation, son. thats because soichiro likes oranges instead of
bitter lemons. lemons on a car is badluck'

for those of you with little kids, we recently started using the Recaro Vivo
booster seat in the FitS for my 3 yr old with great results. the fitment
angle is perfect with the Fit's rear seat position. i likes, son loves it.

we let our 1yr old use the Recaro YoungSport which my 3yr old was
using previously:

the best part about these Recaro's is the side impact protection
and the buckles. they are very high quality, very easy to latch on/off
from car to car if you want to change cars often. the main harness
latch release button is on the top of the buckle making it super easy
to access. the 5point is super easy to adjust too.

Ken, first off, that's great to hear on the anniversary story. Second, I love those Recaro child seats, always wanted to get my daughter one but went with a Britax instead.

yah, the EnduraTech coilovers are pretty much stock feel even at
the lowered ride height. it's got shorter damper housing so you don't
loose any of the suspension travel like you do with just a lowering spring
setup.

the dampers almost feel like those auto-adjusting dampers even though
they are just twintube gas shocks with slightly higher damp rate
than stock under front/rear linear rate springs. car feels very comfy
and absolutely no undulations or harshness at all.

ive tried several different child seats for my kids, but the recaro's are
just built more robust and structurely sound with not only the kid,
but also the parents in mind. the little convenience areas for the
parents such as ease of belt tensioner access, buckle design, etc.
makes all the difference in real world use.

it was going for $900 and at the time there was no free shipment deal, but i
went over there to the EnduraTech's office (2min away from where i
work ) and picked it up during lunch. also met with Justin.

you can only buy this Fit's kit direct from // Endura-Tech // Home
Justin over there is a good guy, he will help you out.
he's still offering the $899 with free shipping deal in the US.

I need to get some more WENOL!

it's a metal polish for pots and pans but works awesomely on cleaning/polishing stainless exhausts like my Megan axle-back. it leaves
behind a protective film and lasts almost a good 3-4weeks. my car is
parked outdoors 24/7. since it's made for pots and pans, the heat from
the exhaust is no problem.

i usually find them at William'sSonoma...but i may look somewhere online.

hey, it's Fall and cooler weather's coming in. this is especially
welcome since im going to be using less and less of the a/c for more
power to the wheels.

along with the mugen visors i have on the car, i can drive through
rain with the windows cracked open and air circulating inside.

i need to start planning my final detail of the year before the temps
dips too low... ideally i want it above 65F to do the paint sealant or
any waxes for that matter unless it's a spray wax.

im also going to grease up the exposed aftermarket nuts and bolts,
clamps, etc to prevent rusting. i think i may need to replace the
endlink nuts on the EnduraTech's.

well, unfortunately after a week of use and her long trip downtown
in rushhour bumper to bumper traffic meeting her client, the wedge
helped, but not to the level she needed.

so, im asking my sales guy at Honda to check on 08 and 09 Fit Sport
availability in AT.

have issues with your lower back, this might help.

i guess i could take a look at something like this too...

too bad these aren't apparently going to be available in a 6MT trim in
the US. only DSG type gearbox in AWD. i hate AT.

oh wait, im looking for a car for the wife.... she can have a 08/09 xB
or something if i can't find a FitSport AT... my local CarMax
wants $18K for a 07Fitsport with 14K miles. WTF!!! that's more than
what my FitS cost new including tax. LOL!!!

ok, i may have found orange, silver, and black FitSports in my area...
but need to call the dealer today to see if those are AT or MT...

i really dont want 2 silver FitSports on my driveway so hope she can
accept orange or black... red would've been perfect for her though...

she says she wants to paint it pink. pink?!

Searching for a second Fit Ken!?!
Thats awesome bro!

As much as i dont like the looks of the 2009 exterior, if you and your wife can get over the weird exterior look, its a much more refined Fit. Worth the wait to find one you want at MSRP IMO.
Much better interior and features compared to the 07-08s.

well, my goal was to get the new TSX (per my other discussions on
other threads) but she wants a wagon. the 09 FitS's looks are
not bad to me. it turned out better than the picts ive seen in the past.
so i suppose if she can wait, we might consider the 09's... or also look
at other brands including the new xB or a dated Mazda5. At least on
the 5 you got a make-believe 3rd row seating.

i checked with the dealers again this am and even though their online
inventory shows they have 08's in stock, it ended up they have
none. WTF. it's like bait and switch i tell ya they start
talking about how great the 09's are. wait a minute, i want the
08's.
