the purpose of the spikes is to condition them not to sit on the side mirrors. bag over the mirror would not have helped my case this am due to the hugh amount it dumped. the crap wouldve still drip down the door. but i was thinking about using a shoe bonnet to staple the strip of spikes onto..., but the dumb bird would associate the blue shoe bonnet with spikes (or light color) and not the side mirrors so decided to clip the spike strip directly onto the mirrors. from a few feet can’t even tell my mirrors have spikes. dumb bird lands on it, feels pain, do it a few times and it should start associating my mirrors and pain. or not. worth a try ..
Project overall:
Dug up and Removed 3 cubic yards of dirt (~1500lbs per yard)
Transported (40) 50lb bags of gravel
Transported (14) 50lb bags of river rock
Transported (30) 2" x 4" x 8ft
Transported (35) 3/8" x 10ft rebar
All this in the civic over several trips haha. I mean the car only has a 850lb passenger capacity.
Girlfriend and I did the design and demo. I did the handy work.
Now to figure out seating. If I were to do it again, I'd totally assemble the frames differently to ease with removal but this isn't my career so live and learn haha.
Yep, suspension is shot, so I'm going to get Koni Orange + Swifts, beyond that, coil packs, spark plugs, valve adjustment, serp belt, all new fluids, get the various dents fixed, tint the windows & buy some wheels for summer so I don't have to swap tires on the OEM wheels all the time.
For a bit under $5000 I should have the car ready for another 100k miles of worry free driving.
Nice work shinjari! That looks great! Hope you finish soon so you can enjoy.
Reminds me of my pond project. Not sure why, but I woke up one day about 10 years ago and decided I wanted a koi pond. 6 months of digging, $1,000's worth of flagstone, retaining wall blocks, pond supplies, etc later and I had a pond. Suppose it was worth it in the end since we're still enjoying the pond and our koi are healthy and happy.

I was trying to do the math and couldn't figure out why this would cost so much?
Struts/shocks/springs - $800?
Coils, plugs, belt, fluids - $300?
Wheels - $900?
Tint - $300?
Sub Total - $2300
How many dents do you have? Are you talking total repaint?
Nice! Koi as pretty awesome. We dont have the space for water features. I got an elevated area for our hammock/small seating area to do in the back right corner where all that dirt is. Then in the back left corner is for my 12x12 workshed and thats about it. Still got a ways to go.
Dont you just run coil packs until they fail? I've heard various stories with the Fit Coil packs.
What wheels you looking at?
I'm a fan of preemptive maintenance, plus if a new one fails I'll have four okayish ones sitting around.
Work CR Kiwami 16x6.5 +42 in white, supreme conservative sizing haha

I've got a light side swipe on the driver's side that will require paint, a hopefully PDR-able dent on the front psgr fender & I need the rear bumper re-fitted to fit correctly. My math is updated in your quote.
I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Koni/Swift combo. Once I get done with other projects, I have BC DS coilovers on my shopping list for ours.
Enjoyed the swifts/OEM...BC Racing coils were good too in my GE.
If the Fit had the same Turbo Motor as my civic...that could've made me keep it. I know the old adage of drive a slow car fast etc but....I need that POWAH to overtake super slow drivers on the highway haha.
Oh and speaking of slow cars....that reminds me of the BRZ/FRS. This'll change your mind Kenchan.
