Whats not as nice?

The picture I posted is the optional OEM Accessory you can buy from Honda. Much nicer than the stock sport armrest. It replaces the little fold down arm rest.

About $150-175.

Ebay also has some from China...but not sure on the quality of those personally. Look to be similar.

Japanese Domestic Market

The Japanese market high trim level GD Fit's had a nice center console with storage armest. The armrest slides forward and back.

I bought the console, armrest top piece, and rear cupholders from Japan and installed in our GD. Wasn't cheap, but really improved the interior and driving experience.

GD Fit's in US had no armrest of any kind.

Yeah having the optional armrest was a total change in regards to comfort. Especially when driving manual. It put my arm at just the right placement.

FWIW, I purchased an armrest off eBay - one of those China specials. The build material is obviously not OEM quality, but it performs admirably. I particularly like that it was cheap ($36) and easily removable (friction foam pads hold the unit in place). The only drawback is you have to be careful when screwing in the mounting plate (allows the upper armrest portion is connect to the lower portion) - go too hard on the screws and they will go through the plastic. It feels like a lot of space is wasted underneath the armrest, so I may order another one and fiddle with an extra storage compartment just because they are inexpensive.

I apologize for the grainy pictures as I had my daughter take them (I am not home near my Fit).

As for the product name, if you just do a search for "Honda Fit Storage Box Armrest" it should pop up. Prices are generally around $30-40 (mine was $35.99). It has a main compartment underneath the armrest, along with a mostly useless rear cupholder and ashtray.

Taco Tuesday!

Almost done installing the aftermarket camshaft in the Fit. Just getting delayed by work, family, and Halloween stuff.

I want to buy a 92-95 Civic hatchback.

I don't have space for two cars.

I REALLY don't have space for three cars.

Sad.
