My Mx-6 handles well. Its got GC coilovers w/ Illuminas, 4 Wheel Steering, and 225's on each corner.
But yes, straights are her sweet spots.

i've been part of the subaru community for 3 1/2 years. none of the wrx owners i know have many complaints!? i've been pushing 21 psi and 340+whp out of my bone stock 2.0L, with zero issues. i've also done 30 or so track events/time attacks/time trials.

While on WRX topic, wgnths, I helped a friend of mine change spark plugs on his WRX and replace pathetic stock downpipe with a very nice tapered flange one. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! That stock one has exhaust exiting from a turbo hit a dead wall and buffet until it finds it's way out through what appears to be way less than 2" hole and then through two cats!
It does not hurt the fact that he upgraded to an STI turbo either! Alcohol injection, too! I love the sound of full boost coming on.
I know that Subaru purist will hate me, but I like the new STI 5-door! I like hatchbacks for shear practicality over sedans.
My Civic sedan is in jeopardy. With baby on a way STI is a serious contender. My wife and I are not minivan types! She takes my friends WRX for a blast frequently to everybody's amazement. My friend encourages her too. Something about the smell of rubber on all four when she drops the clutch at 6K rpm launch. I wonder why, LOL!

oh, well if we're talking about things like that then i agree! spark plugs are beyond a pita. stock turbo back is super restrictive...

and i agree on the new sti. i consider myself a purist, and i love the 5 door hatch and i'll probably replace my forester with it in the next 6-8 months. very practical for the wife and kiddo and still gobs of fun.(the original reason i purchased my wrx in wagon form).

I love my WRX. I just didn't like feeding it. 22 vs. 33 MPG and premium vs. regular gas make it about half the cost to feed the Fit. Handling wise the Fit is sharper, but I think my scooby's shocks are starting to get tired, plus the actual cornering grip is similar, just turn in is much sharper on the Fit. I still miss the turbo oomph, the grippier seats, and the armrest in the Subaru.

8.7 seconds? Down hill with a 50 know wind at the back maybe! Most car mags have it at about 10-5 - 12.5. I think that is much more realistic. My wife has a Fit Sport MT. It is slow. Its a good little car, but its an econobox. All this race talk and BS don't fall for it. I'd say with a really good driver an MT might do 9.8. But who cares? If you want something fast, don't buy the Fit. It's a great little put together car that holds alot of stuff when you fold the "magic" seats.

Edmunds got 9.3 out of the manual, with various other testers getting into the 8s. You must be reading about the automatics.
