What is included in a B1 service and what is the typical cost?

I believe that the "1" indicates a tire rotation, but I don't have my manual with me, so I'd like to know what the "B" service includes. I got my A1 at about 5500 miles (when the meter was at about 5 or 15%) and now I am around 11k miles and at 15% for the B1 service.

Thanks.

Reply- Just called my local dealer and it's $140 (shockingly high). It's a tire rotation, brake inspection, oil change, and a bunch of other inspections. They will also do an oil change only for $35 or an oil change and tire rotation for $140. I wonder if they actually do the inspections that are promised and if they are of any significance...

So you will pay $105.00 for a 10 minute job- rotating the wheels. You could invest your own 10 minutes and save the $105.

If you can do it yourself...

35$ for oil change is OK but
140 for that + tires rotation is
way to expensive... The inspection
they makes is a visual inspection, like
oh, brake lines look good, ah nothing is
leaking... Sh\t, install and balance tires
is less expensive than doing a rotation ???

The steelership it is...

I just had this done at the dealership this past weekend... let me go find my receipt and I'll let you know what all was done.

I think this will be my last trip to the dealership...

EDIT: All right, for the grand total of $104.80, they did this:

-Change oil and filter.
-Rotate Tires.
-Check air pressure and tire condition.
-Check front and rear brakes.
-Check calipers for damag, leaks and tightness of mounting hardware.
-Check parking brake adjustment.
-Inspect tie rods, gearbox mounting and boots.
-Inspect suspension components (which led to them informing me that I had lowering springs [really...? no way...] and that I was going to need rear tires soon... right...)

$72.62 in labor.
$25.38 in parts. (Don't you love how those two miraculously add up to $90...? What a coincidence.)
$5.08 in miscellaneous garbage.
Finding out I was charged $104.80 instead of $104.08... priceless.

just throwing it out there that the $5 in misc garbage was cleaner and rags for cleaning up spilled stuff under your hood, so it will continue to look good. I know it sounds rediculous, but all shops will charge you for this, it is just calculated differently everywhere you go. Some do it as a flat fee, some do it as a percentage, some do it based on how much they like the customer

I agree that this seems expensive for what they do. They say that they check the torque of the bolts on the suspension components, but that seems pretty crazy to me. I might do it this as a baseline, but from here on out I will handle some of this stuff myself (like tire rotations). Also, how hard is it to check the brakes when the tires are already off the car? You've already done 90% of the work by taking the wheels off. I must admit that I don't know how to check drum shoes (on discs you just look at the pad thickness), but the drum shoes will probably last 100k miles on this car (very light = easy on brakes).

Drum brakes usually have a little rubber grommet that you pull out from the back and shine a light into to see how much of the shoe is left. I would guess the drums on the Fit will last close to 150k if not more than that

I can rotate the tires myself (although I can't do it in 10 minutes, but probably less than an hour), but I don't know how to do the other inspections, including checking the torque on every suspension bolt and fastener. Are you saying that that stuff is unnecessary?
