Yeah this has been identified on the board a while ago...I wonder if Canada is affected because I haven't seen a letter from my dealership yet and I know that our roads get half salted and half graveled when snow falls...I'd wager Ontario is probably the worst for this...hmmm...

 

A bunch of us from Ontario have already gotten the recall letter.

 

I should have checked the Honda owners page first, I would have seen that this is the December 2007 recall.

yep the recall has been out for a while. My only concern is that i never received a letter. Then again, roads dont get salted to much here in the seattle area. but they do every once ina while

^^^ Lucky! I forgot what 70+F temps feels like! Today is the coldest day so far this winter. 5 degrees F with windchills down past -10F!

 

No recall for me.
Its weird how it only effects some Fits?

i think they're limiting it to fits in those regions where road salt is often used. maybe it will include the rest of us later? i really don't know. but it's never snowed where i live so i'll just wait and see if they recall mine too.

I got the recall in Vancouver, Canada 2 weeks ago, and brought it in last week. They inspected the vehicle and told me that I didn't need any repair so I was good to go.

SMATTS, i tought they must do something... not just inspect the car. They did nothing on mine too ... i don't know what to think

 

I'm going to guess that just because they recall 20,000 cars it doesn't mean that all 20,000 were assembled incorrectly, and they only have to fix the few cars that did get a bad job on that wire harness. OR maybe they will only fix it if it has in fact corroded. but i think they just check the seal. can someone who works at honda chime in on this?

 

I live on Vancouver Island. No letter for me yet regarding this recall. You say you guys got yours about 2 weeks ago?
