your welcome for the tip, problems are few and far between with the Fits and if you have a decent dealer they will take care of any issue... also thanks for serving our country! and that CRX looks real nice good hunting on your Fit, that deal you have sounds decent! good luck!

Trust me man,its cool and all but it's not efficient compared to its power.

I used to have an EG civic coupe,D15 non-vtec.Short ram and exhaust.I CONSTANTLY average 30+ no matter how I drive the car.The sad thing is...it was wayy quicker than the fit

They just dont make em like they used to

Yah, I hear you, d-series motors are insane for efficiency. (weight of the old cars has a lot to do with it). I can wromp on my CRX with a d16y8 (1.6L SOHC VTEC) and still get 350mi to a tank. (~35mpg)

I say go for it. I have an auto, and you will definitely get better mileage with the manual. I knew the auto wouldn't be as good as the manual, but it's quite a spread. I have ranged from a low of 27 mpg to a high of 33. I have long forgotten how much Civics like yours weigh, but they must be significantly lighter than the Fit. I'd like to see figures on how much the slushbox wieghs vs. the manual gearbox.

Highway noise and ride imo is surprisingly good for a car this size. I was expecting much more noise and chop. It's really fairly quiet. Not Mercedes quiet, but still good. And it doesn't struggle on the highway. Acceleration is slow, but once it hits the VTEC range, it gets a good run, and sometimes you have to back off because of slower traffic. Once you settle into cruising speed, legal speeds are quite comfortable, and 80+ cruising is easy to do. Obviously, that cool box shape of the first gen USDM xB is the problem on the highway. It's slamming into the wall of air in front of it, where the Fit's going to move through the air better, even with the drag generating shape to the back.

On a side note, I think Scion messed up creating a new USDM xB, and not importing the JDM bB. The whole attraction to Scion was JDM models now available in the U.S., and then they go and kill the thing with a new larger xB and the heinous xD. Oh well. TS for them.

Back to the subject. I love my Fit so much, that if I won big in the lottery, I'd go and get some sweet cars, but I'd also buy a couple more Fits. It's a blast.

Fit weighs roughly 2500 lbs either manny or auto.

That's the tradeoff for size.

That's just ignorance and stupidity.
Lol,some of you guys really need to step of the high horse and thinking this car is God's chariot(we all know it's the crx).

To the OP,
just ask yourself this. Are you willing to go into the whole financial thing with a car that is just like the xB but a little bigger, better handling?

I've had my Fit for almost 11,000 miles now and I love to drive it. I don't get less than 33 mpg and thats only when I romp on it a bunch. I've had no problems with it whatsoever. My wife loves it and I love it and we couldn't be happier. I traded in my S2000 for the Fit, so the Fit is considerably slower, but I have no problems staying with traffic or passing when necessary. I can't wait for my A-spec CAI to come in the mail!

Yea, I'm guessing you're joking here. You know, I was all set to defend you in the I Love My Fit post. Hey, you don't like the car. You have buyer's remorse. I can respect that. You have your opinion, and you're entitled to it. But don't go throwing shit at everyone here who loves this car. This is after all, a Fit enthusiast message board. You might get some sympathy, but you won't find many who agree with you.

May you have better luck on your next auto purchase.

Serious! I've had cars I've hated (Evo for numerous reasons, 8thgen civic), when I dislike cars I get rid of them. I'm not saying they weren't good cars because they were! I just didn't like them. However, I've also had cars that I've loved (350Z). The Fit is one of the cars that I truly enjoy!

Sorry to the guy who thinks that the Fit is a POS, just because he doesn't like it doesn't mean someone else won't!

I was driving home from work the other day, and saw a Vivid Blue Fit lowered with some nice wheels on it, and decided to go look again. I test drove the Fit, felt nice, they had the one I wanted, only complaint is it seems almost identical to my xB performance wise. Little sluggish, trans is geared way too short (speed limit on 95% of the roads I drive on are 60 or 70 mph and the car is screaming at ~3500rpm). I've also read about the bad mpg a lot of people are getting. My xB has almost 15000mi on it now, and i'm still only getting 22mpg, i'm hoping the Fit isn't like this? Can anyone enlighten me? I got an offer for an 08 Sport 5MT for $15,305, is this a good deal? Thanks guys!
nah man as for mpg you wont loose that much... before i got the headers i was making about 33 mpg after the headers im making 28-29 mpg... hopefully you get the Fit man
