Windshield Wipers Collide with Each Other

My driver's side windshield wiper was making a bad noise, so I flipped the blade around. It's much better, but if I put the blade on until the little hook actually clicks, it hits the other blade partway up the windshield, causing it to flip up off the glass! What gives? It never did that before!

As a workaround for now, I have the wiper mostly on the clip, so it could slide on about another quarter inch for it to click. It's enough so they don't hit, but I'm afraid I might lose the wiper!

I would just unscrew the bigger bolts at the bottom of the wipers and readjust it if they are hitting. Move the larger arm up slightly so they dont collide or the smaller arm lower.

I just don't understand why this would suddenly start happening. I don't think I moved the arms when I changed the blade.
