My car alarm is going off like crazy. It went off by itself. Nothing was touch, hit or shake. After I used the remote to unlock and lock, alarm will go off ~30sec after the "beep". So I have to turn it off, manually under the driver seat. I went back to the dealer. They said it is too sensitive. Got it adjust. Few hours later, same thing happen. Today, back to dealer. The tech checked and found the "pin 5" was set "on". He said if pin 5 is on. Alarm will go off randomly. So he turned it off and told me it will be fine now. 3 hours later.
Same thing happen again!! The alarm went off for no reason. After it went off once, it will keep going off. No matter how many time I unlock/lock the door with remote. It will go off ~30 sec after the "beep". I don't know anything about car alarm. Do you guys think the sensor is bad? Computer bad? Or installation problem. I noticed it's acting crazy when the car is cold. Everything worked fine after I drive and got the car warm.

The car and alarm are new. Add-on from the dealer. They installed before I pick up the car.

wow... um thas messed up... keep on the dealer to fix it??? obv. something wrong on their end...

 

Sounds like a bad cpu on the alarm. Have the dealer fix/replace it. I used to have an alarm like that years back on my nsx usually went off randomly because the ECU was so sensitive that changes in temperature made it go off, then for fun you wouldn't be able to shut it off! Damn thing.

Is this an aftermarket alarm or the one for the base model?

 

I don't know what brand but it's install by the dealer. I has the sport model so I don't know what they install on the base model.
