Fit Alarm default setting change?

Hello:

We like our Fit, but the basic alarm system is driving the wife crazy.

Is there a way to change the default setting so when the car is unlocked, it says unlocked without the alarm system arming itself after the default period.

Basically, we live in the country and have little worry of theft. If we leave the car unlocked we went it to stay that way (unlocked and alarm not set).

I can't tell you how many times I have gotten out of the car, went into the house (didn't lock car or do anything special), come back out 20 minutes later, open the door and have the damn alarm going off.

If I wanted the car alarmed, I would have used the fob and set the alarm!

Thanks for any info.

Something is not right. It's not suppose to do that if the doors are unlocked.

If the alarm is on and you unlock it and let it sit, it will lock itself after a couple of seconds just in case you accidently pushed the button.

If you get out of the car just after driving it it will stay unlocked. Although im not sure why you would want too. Is it that much of an inconveniance to push 1 button?
