Audio system question..
I presently have a pretty nice sound system in my car that I'd like to trade in that I would like to use just the subwoofer from..
I have this MTX 10" subwoofer which features a built in amp. that I had installed by a friend (who is no where to be found).. and I'd like to install that subwoofer in the 2009 Fit, and be able to hook it up to the Fit's stereo. Is that possible..? (I have a custom mounted volume control built into my lower dash, which I figure that might have to be done too)..
Anyone..?

I am not familiar with the factory unit on the fit, but i would venture to guess that it does NOT have built in sub/av out jacks. If this is the case (which is very likely), you will have to get a modulator (also called an RF switch or RF crossover depending on where you go) and splice into your rear speakers for a signal. In addition to that you will have to wire in a remote wire to any power source that is accessible when the vehicle is in the accessory/on position. Then you can route a power cable (with in line fuse) to your battery (positive) terminal, and find a chassis ground for your ground wire to the amp.
hope this helps.
I think the sub/amp combo the OP is talking about is most likely a truck style box with a very simplistic amplifier input. Usually only 1 set of rca ports and a small dial for tuning and Db level. Sometimes a switch for lpf/No lpf.
