Question Zeta Honda Fit Billet Oil Cap - Paint Question

Hello All,

I'm trying to come up with a way to paint the Zeta Honda Fit Billet Oil Cap. I want it to be this blue with the Fit lettering storm silver metallic. Any thoughts on how I should do this?

Honda Fit Billet Aluminum Oil Filler Cap - FIT-OIL-CAP-RS

I've never painted aluminum before.

I was actually thinking about getting it powder coated. However, I think the powder coating would sit too deep into the Fit logo.

Thanks.

This was my only disappointment with zeta. Its UPSIDE DOWN! loking at the engine bay, like a normal human being, the word "FiT" is upside down. If you have OCD like me, i'm sure you'll understand lol... idk about painting it tho, maybe andonized?

Me, too, Brother. Why it would be upside down is a mystery to me. I have one of those, and was disappointed with the upside down lettering too. I never even think about it now, but it seems kind of careless.

You could have the aluminum cap glass-bead blasted to create a surface profile before painting. Call automotive electric shops (like the alternator/starter rebuild places) and find one with a glass bead blaster. They will do it cheap or free, and it'll be ready to paint. Some paints require what's known as a wash primer for aluminum. Get your paint first, and read the specs. Then you will have the true information you need. You can almost surely find out from your local industrial or automotive paint rep.
Good luck. Post a picture!
