That car was tore up when I got it and was in need of new tires about 10,000 miles before the front passenger blew out going 75 on the highway. Being in high school, I could barely afford gas, let alone new tires.

My point is, a spare tire is really only important on the day you need it. 7 cars in 17 years and only using one spare tire makes it less necessary for me (having AAA helps too). Not saying it's not important to some, it's just incredibly low on my list of important factors.

Just curious as you say it's incredibly important to you. How many spares have you had to go through? Especially on a new car? My last few cars have been new and usually get traded in before needing new tires anyway. I could very well be in the lucky minority, but I'd think Honda felt the same as me in their decision.
I didn't say it was incredibly important; I said it was important. I live in northern New England in a rural area and often travel for long distances nowhere near a tire store or even a good mechanic. (I too have AAA.) How many times have I needed to use a spare? Probably four times in almost forty years of driving. As you say, a spare tire is important on the day you need it.

It may be a moot point, though, if Honda keeps a spare in the US version of the '09.

Wiz, it's hard for me to judge the sincerity of your posts after comments like "Maybe he doesnt deserve to have a car"

Are you even interested in Fits?

Honda Redesigns every 4 years and it's been out for about 4 years I believe. It just came here last.

I'm just trying to find reason behind getting an Automatic over Manual.

You don't need to question my motives. I'm on this forum like everyone else to enjoy the splendor that is the Honda Fit.

My comment surely was in jest, but my passion for cars is very serious.

oh, and you still didnt answer my question...

I guess to help contribute to the thread, I don't really dig the new design. I would say wait for the prices to drop a bit more on the 08's(when the 09's come out) and then throw down for an 08.

The current Fit has been out in Japan since 2001. That's quite a bit longer than 4 years.

Well, I didn't know that but I'm just saying. I know the Civic is redesigned every 4 years... But I guess its just Honda America that releases new designs every 4 years.... Dunno, just what I've heard
