Hand/Parking Brake Removal

Hey There,

So, my hand/parking brake boot decided to tear and break off. So, I went down the shop and got a brand new one. Question is though ... does anyone have some info on replacing the whole hand/parking brake lever?

Often there is a guide wire along the bottom of the boot that will clip in place, but I HAVE NEVER TAKEN IT APART ON THE Fit, so don't take my word for it. I will do a quick search and see if i can find anything on it.

that little plastic bit under the handle? I took it to the dealership, was repaired under warranty, I watched some cooking show for about an hour in the lounge. (also did oil change)

There are a couple bolts that hold the parking brake assembly to the car, and then another one that should hole the actual parking brake cable. Once you remove the center console you'll understand how to unbolt it, its pretty simple bolt off/on.

The plastic boot is held somewhere near the top of the parking brake with probably some sort of ledge or clip up there.

Already tried. They said it's normal wear and tear. Had to buy the part. I don't really care too much.
