oh curses!

So I had this great plan of selling my truck and getting the fit around may 17 and moving to rochester, ny, but this really old (79 years old) guy figured that pulling out in front of me (he had a stop sign, I did not) and T boning him would be awesome. I beg to differ. and now my insurance company said that I never signed up for collision and since it was "no fault" (apparently being blind is nobody's fault) I AM SCREWED. I am doing something called a mini-torque (sp?) and the max I can get is $500 even though my truck is totaled.

However, i just filled out an auto app and expecting a call tomorrow. If it all goes the best possible, the fit is mine next week or tomorrow if the dealership is cool.

Get a lawyer, the insurance company is screwing you.

Have youcontacted a lawyer? Somehow there seems to be a legal way to recover your loss. Even if its under small claims - which can be as much ass $3500.

Your back hurts now. Go to the emergency room. My uncle is a lawyer lol. Anytime you get in a accident, even a fender bender you can rpob get around 10k.

I guess I thought

that the other person's insurance company would be responsible for paying for the repairs to your vehicle...or then again maybe I am getting too old...

Hope it works out in the end - and do not worry about collision for the Fit -it will not be "forgotten."

not if you live in mich (a no fault state) and the accident is labeled "no fault" your own insurance company is supposed to take care of you. fuggin' mich.

the company is doing an internal investigation, if it does not work, i am going to "threaten to leave type thing" and see what happens. I rather not do whole lawyer thing bc 1) lawyers = lots of money 2) court system = lots of time. I have little money and that is going to the fit. I am in the mist of moving twice and getting a new job.

I am wanting today on the reply for the auto loan. I tried another with honda yesterday, but I need 4 lines of credit and only have one, a credit card. If I had a cosigner (my dad is not interested) I would only have 5.5%, but no such luck. If I am approved for a loan from my credit union, I am ordering 1 honda fit sport 08 VBP MT today and will pick up on tuesday.

So the police report did not list anyone at fault?

If they did, then I do not know how the insurance company could claim that it would be a "no fault" accident...

I had a similar experience when I was 17 years old, when I t-boned an old guy in a truck. My brother's car, which I was driving, was totaled. The overheard the old guy saying I came out of nowhere. But of course, it was his fault.

Hope things work out for ya!
