Those who have traded a Civic Si for a Fit....

Just wondering if you miss your 2006+ si's and how you feel about the fit. I am actually debating getting an 08 si and selling my 08 fit, but am hesitant, because I like the fit a lot.

Pros/Cons/Suggestions welcome.

^ haha I wish. $6k is a bit steep. Im just trying to decide whether 3-4k spent on mods for the fit would be better spent on an upgrade to the si.

Judging by the fact that you have an 08 Fit, I would say that unless you are real financially set, you should hold on to the fit for at least 3+ years and then look at swapping it. Next year when barrels of oil are at $200 and gas is at $7 a gallon, you will want the Fit. Besides the fact that the Si is still way to boy racer (target 25 and under).

Hey everyone. This is my first post on here. I drive a 2007 Honda Civic SI and my GF is wanting a FIT, so I joined. I am getting around 31mpg in my SI and I drive the crap out of it.

Suffice to say you will NOT be getting 31mpg driving hard in an Si unless you are using magic gas or something. Anecdotes usually don't = repeatable real world results. With that in mind, the Fit is definitely a better choice economically. I wouldn't be surprised if gas is consistently $5+ by next year, plus you're going to lose money on the trade-in.

An Si is more powerful than the Fit, but is it actually more fun? That I'm not sure of. As many Fit-converts can testify, 109hp can be just as fun as much more powerful cars.

Trust me, Im not the typical juvenile SI owner. When I say "around 31" I mean 34 max and the least I have calculated after a night of wild driving was 27. Most of the time its between 30 and 32.

Anyways.... We are probably going to buy one next month. Any comments, suggestions, etc.as stated above. What should I look for/ avoid. Options to look for???

So far I am looking for this

Very odd that you are getting 31mpg when fueleconomy.gov Fuel Economy Only rates it at 24 mpg combined which is pretty good as well.

I had an 06 Si. I now have an 07 FD2 Type R and am picking up an 09 Fit Tuesday. IMHO, the Si's aren't worth the money IMHO. Poor interior wear, higher insurance, and you'll be stuck with the stigma of 8thcivic. Your money is better spent keeping the Fit and boosting it in all honesty, if you're looking for something quicker, it's still cheaper to boost the Fit and not have to deal with the insurance (reliability is neglible if you do the proper maintenance).

Why're you interested in an Si? You said you really like your Fit.
