Thanks, I'm already making plans for the Fit. Parts are alot cheaper for it than the SI.

well, I never had an 07 Si but my car prior to the Fit was a 92 civic hatch w/ a GSR swap mild buil w/ ITR internals doing a 13.2 ET and great on the canyons. I now have the Fit and besides the ET times I have just as much fun in my Fit. I have NO regrets whatsoever.

Yea i am probably gonna be doing the opposite, going from an Si to a Fit. The Si is def not the car i need in my life right now. Ill lay the pros/cons that are making me choose the Fit over the Si and maybe it'll help you, i dunno. Also I drive like 30k miles a year so MPG is def a huge factor for me.

Si Pros:

200HP +
V-TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK + 8,300 RPM redline
VSA would go here but every 09 Honda is gonna have VSA so...
The car just looks sick man, from any angle
LSD - Def nice to have, whipping a turn under throttle feels soooo nice

Si Cons:

Mileage +
Premium Fuel (i average 27 MPG, i used to average 37 in my Yaris so i expect i can get ~37 out of the Fit w/ my driving style) So i guess expect a ~35% drop in MPG + an extra 0.20-0.40 cents at the pump for premium. For me going to a Fit means ill save about $1,500/year or $125/month so divide those in 1/2 if you drive around 15k miles a year cause i drive 30k.

Low profile tires - 3 bent rims from hitting friggin pot holes w/ low profiles on + more expensive tires =

Transmission problems that have plagued the honda family since the old RSX (2nd gear loves grinding w/ the clutch all the way down at high rpms and 3rd gear just like to randomly get hard to push in, more often when cold) Annoying but not a deal breaker for me.

Oh god, wheel hop. Drives me nuts. Nothing better than spinning your tires in the rain and busting a motor mount WITH a torque damper installed...

09 Fit Sport Pros:

Glass roof or w/e its called
MPG obviously
Paddle Shifters
Costs alot less
More versatile interior + Magic Seats FTW

09 Fit Sport Cons:

None yet, i expect the new i-VTEC motor @ around 120 HP will do me fine
Well maybe the cheaper climate controls are a con i guess

Bought a 2008 Black Fit Sport last night, I told them to take off the 194 dollar wheel locks because Im not stupid, I know what they are worth..lol. Instead, he knocked another 200 off the price. Hopefully I got a good price. It was 16,996 otd included tax, tag ,title, some stupid fee, and he kept the wheel locks on.

I came out of a 380awhp '03 EVO for the MPG and reliability (at 18 MPG I could've gone to a Chevy truck for those). I love my Orange Blaze Sport for the DD, then again I have an '88 Prelude 4WSI for fun drives.

Just totaled my 07 SI sedan and I miss it ALOT. Had I not driven a SI before I got the fit I would be 100% happy with my new fit.The SI was a quick little car and CONSTANTLY got compliments on it. My SI I got 29-31mpg on avg, handled pretty well. I loved the interior, the tach/dash area. If I had the money at the time i got my fit I would of picked up another one for sure. Now that I got the springs/wheels Rear sway I am alot happier with the fit but I just lacks the power my si did. I guess I just got spoiled.

Buy what you can afford and you will be happy with either purchase.

My old ride before I fell asleep on the way to work, LONG work day, 4 hours of sleep = not a good idea.

traded my 07 Si for my 07 Fit sport. I regret and miss nothing about the car...except the power which with boost or a swap is cured. The interior is a piece of crap in the Si....the seats were already getting fuzzy and the car was maybe 7 months old and the plastic scratches soooo easy as far as the interior goes. Plus I'm a hatch man and think the Fit looks better. (So does the new Gti but thats another story)

i traded my 06 si for my fit. I think the fit is a much better car atleast for my situation. we just had our first baby and an si coupe doesnt like child seats. although the car was fun it lacked the "tossability" i loved about my previous eg and ek civics. it just feels like a large car. the fit is a blast even with half the hp. it def. flys around the corners and keeps me smiling!<~~~steve

p.s- the si was plagued with problems that honda refuses to recognize. im a tech at a local Honda dealer here and you should see the service bulletins to fix problems on the si's. its emberassing to tell someone honda reccomends a transmission flush with an "updated" fluid instead of saying our k-series syncros are crap.
