Fits are getting hard to get in So Cal

Most of the reps i spoke to are selling for msrp or higher.

bummer!!! i would of thought they are trying to get rid of the 08's to get the 09's in quicker.

msrp is 15,905. + everything will get to $17452.45

anyone purchase through costco system ?

I think JDMChris.com(moderator here on FF.net) always has alot of Fits at his delaership, and they dont mark up their cars there. If you havent talked to him yet, i suggest doing so!

Well, I think a lot of people have become more interested in the 07/08 Fits due to the cost of fuel. So these people start to do their research and see that Honda is set to release the ugly ass 09's so they're jumping on the 08's remaining at dealerships. That would be my take on it.

Production on the 2008s probably stopped or will be within a couple months... also the Fit is getting tons of publicity so a lot more people are interested in them now than initially. So you've got a rise in demand and a decrease in supply so naturally the price will go up.

Just my two cents on the reason why it might be a little harder to find Fits.

Gas Prices - As they go up, people realizing that econo is the way to go. Demand is up.
New model coming - Dealers aren't going to stock much inventory with a new model around the corner.

Exactly. Also, expect to have to wait if your going to buy an 09, unless you preorder NOW. I bought mine in March 06 and had to wait 2 months before I could pick it up. Paid full MSRP. They were extremely hard to get then, and I expect that will remain the case.

New to this site as I bought my Fit only two weeks ago at a dealership in Ventura County. I used the Costco system and I got a 08 AT Fit Sport in Silver for $100 over invoice (about $16,200 or something like that). It was more of a spontaneous purchase so I didn't do extensive research and price comparisons before buying so I can't really say it that was a good price or not.

If you use Costco or any other third-party pricing systems, make sure you print out the price quote and bring it with you to the dealership and tell them you came in because of that thrid party price quote. I wasn't asked by the sales guy when I was greeted or on the test drive and was waiting for him to bring it up but he never did. I brought it up after we got to the "sit down and work the numbers" phase. I can't remember what the price difference was between the Costco quote and dealer quote but the Costco quote was lower.

The Costco program worked well for me in my opinion. Easy and I had a target price going in. I tried getting the floor mats and window tinting thrown in for free but the dealer said at the price I was getting it for, they couldn't do it. Anyways, thats my two cents on using the Costco program.

+1 on that

High Gas prices, your options for the best MPG cars are limited to;

1) The retarded Yaris with it's dumb center console
2) The Smart.... 2 door, 2 seater. Not that pratical
3) Everything else.... yah, lets go get a Kia

No wonder the Fit is a hot commedity right now.
