Test drove - gonna buy!
Finally went and drove one last night - manual sport. Awesome drive - gotta keep these things at 2.5k + rpms though! No power at 2k... But that's ok...
I was planning on waiting for an '09 but I've gotta stop the bleeding with this SVT Contour I've got. Factoring in maintenance and the cost of fuel, an '08 Fit is actually cheaper than this clunker I have.
The kicker for me is that I'm waiting on official approval ~2-3 weeks~ for this state clean air program. Basically the state of Texas is giving people $3k trade in on their old cars that meet certain criteria. Mine meets it and that's much more than I could get for it private party or on trade...
The hardest part is going to find a dealer who can and will get me a manual sport in orange or blue for msrp. If it was black or dark silver...no prob. The guy I dealt with last night was willing to go $600 over.
Since I hadn't made a final decision, I didn't talk price. I'm not going to pay over msrp though - there is waaaay too much competition here and plenty of supply. I have a quote in my email for $15800++ from another dealer. I think the level of demand is exaggerated by dealer perception...
