Woop Woop!!
Woop Woop!!
So This weekend I drove my fit from Wheeling wv to thomas, wv. Its about 150mi.
Equipped with only a 5 speed sport(mt), a scanguage, and two other people all with clothes for the next few days, I set out on this odyssey.
To get from Wheeling wv one must first go to PA then back to Wv then into MD, then finally back to wv.
I filled up before we left wheeling at sheetz. 34.56mpg not bad a fair amount of highway, but a lot of city.
I followed the speed limits for the most parts. it is 70 in wv, 65 in Pa, a few parts were 55 because road construction. I kept on for the most part. I had it on 2 on the coldest setting for the most part. I didn't want my friend in the back to die after all. Cruise control on for 95% of the time. When approaching a hill i would kick the ac off until we reached the peak. No drafting, only shifted into neutral 3 times. You go down several 8 and 9% grades, so you can shift into neutral for like a mile. But you also have to go up some 8 and 9% grades. After 139.1 miles we stopped in Oakland, Md at the Bp and filled up. 42.257mpg!!! I was so happy. I had never broke 40 before. (My normal commute during he school year is about a 2 mile drive that is unwalkable so i rarely see above 30 on city only. A very hilly 2 mile commute too)
So we had a sweet weekend we filled back up at the sheetz in oakland averaged 34.29mpg not bad bec its all country roads that the speed limit is 55 and my friend drove (like a jacka$$) for a lil bit. So I drove from oakland, Md back to almost heaven WV. cruise all the way windows down the whole way excpet for a little while i had the ac on to 1. At one point we were at a dead stop in traffic on the highway for only about 5 min tho. (I kept the engine on btw lol)
Upon returning
I filled up at the sheetz in wheeling (the one where i first filled up at). 135.1 miles on 2.something gallons (I have the recipt in car too lazy to get it) It came out to 51.562 mpg!!!!!!!!!! I almost pooped myself.

I couldn't believe it! I wish I had a ssr intake i prob could have made 60.
51 mpg with no serious hypermiling, no drafting I am proud of myself. My scanguage said i averaged 50.4 so thats not too far off.,

Hahah to quote myself... 4 people+80mph=40mpg isn't bad at all actually... but still... your numbers are great
"ok" - PSHH way to be harsh dude.
Best of luck, pastafarian.
