Any suggested car movers?

Im planning to move coast to coast (SC to Cali) and I just want your suggestion on a reputable "car mover's" service.

Thanks.

When I relocated to AZ from VA, my new job paid for my truck to be shipped using Dependable Auto Shippers (I'm pretty sure that's who they were).

Thorough inspection before and after shipping, door to door service, they even washed it before dropping it back off to me. I have no idea how much it costs, though.

No problems at all.

You've got to be careful when having a car moved like that, if your lowered, make sure to raise it if possible, and if you're particular make sure you inspect it before they touch it, and immediately after. Pictures are always necessary if you feel that they have damaged your car.

My brother had his old accord moved that way because his work payed for it, they trashed the undercarriage getting it on the truck and ripped off the bumper getting it off the truck.

That is actually my fear. Specially with how low Fit Sport is at stock they might rip the bumper off. This is why im asking if anyone have known a reputable car mover by experience.

I don't think you can stick a car in a POD. Although the Fit is small enough, you could try it... lol, but it's probably not a good idea.

Hmm I thought they were big enough for most cars, at least compact cars. I guess my eyes misjudge.

I moved from FL to CA a few years ago and drove.

I'm moving BACK to FL next week and am driving. I was looking into shipping the Fit and it'll be a LOT cheaper for me to just drive it.

We also used Dependable Auto Shippers back in 2004. We moved two cars from Portland Oregon to Tampa Florida. No problems! About six months ago my husband's sister bought our Subaru and we used them again to ship it back up to the NW. Again, no problems, and I believe it cost About $900.

About three years ago i worked at an impound lot that also was a terminal for DAS, only twice did i ever see a problem with them. The first instance a newer Nissan had oil leaked all over it from a older car above it (complete driver error), but DAS took care of all the expenses. The second was a car shipped that turned out to be stolen. It was an accord show car taken from a show in Kansas city, not sure how well they check ownership of the vehicles. Also keep in mind not all terminals may be that safe security wise dont leave anything in the car, with any shipper.

Thanks for all the inputs. I guess buttom line is that it would be (1) cheaper, (2) safer, and (3) good/fun experience to just drive coast to coast.

Someone just shipping their white honda fit from the west coast, through arizona, saw the white fit, but without bumpers, they were inside the cabin (they didn't want to scrape the bumpers I guess).

it was on a double decker car shipping truck, awesome....

If you've never done it before, it's cool to do... I drove from VA to AZ in three days (2000+ miles). If you can take the time, stretch it out a bit, enjoy the country!
