Just bought my Fit

Well, I got out of my GAS hog Taco and purchased a Fit on Wednesday. Took a raping on the negotiations due to my truck getting poor MPG and everyone wanting to get a car with good MPG. Paid a bit over sticker, but got (less $300 what I owed on the truck. I had to eat the mods I put on the truck, but in one year of driving I will have saved that in gas based upon how far I drive. I do have a motorcycle too as well, so including my wife's Honda Civic, we all have vehicles that get 28+ mpg when driving. If gas goes up more, then I start seeing more of a savings had I kept the Taco. I had been home from my deployment 3 weeks and had spent over $170 in gas for the Taco alone. The bad thing was that I really had not driven much at all...maybe 800 miles if that...I hated leaving half a tank of gas in the Taco as well.

Congratulations. Don't think of what you lefet behind. You scored big time.
Around here they won't even think about trading your Taco even if its paid for and in perfect shape. And few dealers like modded cars cause nobody wants to buy them. I watched a nice lady bring the family Honda slammed to the ground for trade only to be turned away; no trade, no deal, don't want it.
It was a nice Honda with low miles. no deal. dealers right now are hurting.

Congrats on the trade...

I ate a little myself coming from a taco as well... But the 16-18mpg versus the 37+mpg I get now is a lot sweeter considing my commute.

My Taco was getting 14 mpg...no matter where I drove it. I felt guilty driving it anywhere. I'm not a ECO freak, but it was just getting to be too expensive to drive. I am happy now though. I don't care about cranking the Fit and zipping off knowing that the gas gauge isn't going to the "F" immediately.

Welcome to Fit ownership. I am a first time Honda owner and this is the cheapest priced highest mpg car I have every purchased in my life, and I love it. Gotta flex with the times.

My other vehicle gets 16mpg, it a Duramax Allison Hummer H1. For now its getting detailed one panel/1 screw/1 bolt at a time in my garage, it will be there for a while.

"Back in the day" I had a Honda Civic HX. If I had it now, I could have probably sold it for what I purchased it NEW for considering the gas prices. I guess hindsight is always 20/20.
