Soon to be fit owner!

I went and test drove the fits they had at my local dealership. and fell in love with a VBP Base Manual Trans. no upgraded anything, my own pallet to paint a beautiful car. im very excited, i'm going to buy it cash after selling some stock i have had a few years, my uncle is talking to an insurance agent he went to school with to see if he can beat geico's rates, any tips for me before i make a wrong move on something?

My only recommendation is to pay the extra for the Sport. Cruise control and foglights are worth the extra alone in my book. Not to mention the nicer steering wheel, wheels, body kit, stereo, etc.

Most things can be upgraded from the base pretty easily, but the cruise and steering wheel are tough to duplicate.

Tips? What wrong move could you make? I bought my Fit Sport 5-speed two months ago (had to wait 30 days for it to come in) and never expected to be so in love with a car. The funny thing is, I sell them for a living. We don't make anything but a mini commission when we sell them, so some of the guys won't go to any trouble to sell one.

But you won't go wrong. I bought the Fit Sport because I need cruise control, commuting 90 miles round trip daily to the dealership. I'm getting great mileage and thinking about adding accessories.

Good luck with your new Fit, and I hope you get what you are looking for!

Get the dead pedal, your left foot will thank you for it. Enjoy the Fit! Although now I see you're getting MT... MT owners.. do you still find the dead pedal helpful?

Definitely still helpful. Still need a place to rest/brace your left foot. I use the dead pedal as a rest on the highway and a brace when taking corners in the mountains.

yah, the zeta deadpedal imho is a must-have for MT drivers.

i find myself resting my foot on it and supporting my body while
making quick manuvers very often.

Get the Sport. Unless you're going to mod the heck out of the Base - then I'd simply suggest getting a different car.

I really think the Sport is just about perfect. I went from a 2007 Si, to the Fit, and don't miss the dead pedal or the center console as much as I used to. I really don't miss them at all.

If you're going to mod the car - I would seriously think about jumping up to the Civic Si. Put your money into a car, rather than into trying to make the Fit better.

I agree, take a close look at the Sport model and what you get. For the little bit of extra $$, it pays, I believe.

That's what I am doing.

My VBP Sport Auto comes in in two weeks!!

when you finally get the car be very careful not to scrape the front bumper since it is very low if you get a sport

haha seriously, i was pulling on to the highway from this street with a pretty steep incline and scraped the lip... apparently i didn't angle the car enough, so that really annoyed me since i've only had it 3 weeks but it isn't that bad and you can't notice it by looking at the front. i'm going to put some truck bed coating under there since i know it will happen again, seems it happened to a lot if not most of the people on here
