New Member, New Fit, Get It Friday
Hi, just got here.
Picking up a Fit basic 5 sp. manual this Friday. Will look to replace the OEM 14" tires and am looking at Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum's from the Tire Rack on sale for 53.00 each. Has anyone run these tires for a while? I'm running mostly inner city Houston with occasional highway trips of 200 to 400 miles. These would be for the first year until my finances recover enough to get 15" alloys and tires.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

And also, here's a great website database that defines everything about tires and wheels.

Save your cash for bigger wheels if your going to do that later anyway, there are much better performing tires available in 15" sizes and you can go a bit wider too so that you will actually get a return on your investment on the handling.
At least get some of your moneys worth out of the tires the car came with. I've got the base model too and the tires are perfectly fine honestly. I've driven fairly hard through corners on the them and in some pretty fierce Florida rainstorms already and they perform way better than I'd ever have expected tiny golf cart tires to.

Thanks VTEC, you make a good point. I had read reviews of the OEM Dunlops that were not very good. I'll try them and run them for 6 months or a year. Then maybe 15" Konigs with Kumhos.
Great to be on this site, can't wait to pick it up on Friday!
