Fit Arrived- now seeing them all over the place
Hooray! After a 5 week wait, my Vivid Blue Pearl 08 MT Base Fit finally arrived. I paid MSRP on the nose.
I love the color, the interior is comfortable, the A/C cools down quickly, the seat folding technology is miraculous, the headlights are clear and bright, the interior height gives my 6' 2" pate room to stretch out, and the seats leave me with about an inch of slack for my proportional femurs.
I hadn't driven an MT before placing the deposit, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the stick. (I'm used to Hondas). Moreover, despite not really caring about this sort of thing (I'm more of a convenience/efficiency guy) I've been enjoying driving the car. I love the turning radius, the relative smoothness of the ride (I'm coming off of a 94 Civic, mind you) and the pep.
After a couple of days, I'm still in the paranoid "waiting for the first ding in the paint" stage. I seriously considered discreetly keying the bumper in an out-of-the-way spot to get get rid of the initial shock over that first scratch. '
My only complaint so far is that Honda stock radios are, as a rule, lousy. For some reason music always seems kind of flat in them.
Will report back when first trips with large telescope are taken.

Thanks, Rod. If you don't mind, what kind of Stereo did you replace it with? I'm considering doing the same. The one thing that tempted to me spend the extra cash for the Sport model was the Aux input. (I've never really used cruise, even when available.) However, since I thought I might replace the stereo anyway, this no longer bugs me.
Incidentally, did you have the same experience I did? The moment I started driving my Fit, I began seeing other ones everywhere (even watching the Tour de France on TV, I see them alongside the road
) I don't recall noticing them as much before.

Yeah, just hope someone else doesn't put that ding on your car for you. Even though they made me upgrade that horrible HU you are referring too, The new dash kit does not fit snugly due to them trying to rip out the factory one
. I mean seriously, I would have gladly gave them it, due to that fact it blows
.
I havent had the "seeing too many fits" around here. But when I do, I always see the vivid blue pearl ones. Since I have SSM its all good
