A/C Cut out

I have 09 Fit on order and have noticed all the complaints about the a/c robbing power. I have driven 4 cylinder Saab turbos for the last 23 years with the same problem. However, when accelerating under full throttle the a/c compressor is automatically cut out. Does the Honda Fit have this cut out?
Thanks.

None of my saabs do / have done that

98 900 turbo, 1999 9-3 turbo, 2001 9-3 turbo, 1994 9000 turbo

all of them will keep the compressor running under acceleration, thats why i always kept them running on econ mode

AC THROTTLE CUT OUT MICRO SWITCH SAAB 900 1979-1994 NOTE: This switch shuts off the AC compressor when the pressing at full throttle

On a similar subject with the AC.
Is it normal for the AC on the Fit to cycle on/off while the AC is in the 'ON' position? I always thought if the AC switch is 'ON' the AC compressor clutch should always be engaged at all times.

The reason being it gets a little herky-jerky while cruising.

Its normal on small cars for this to happen, only turns on as needed

IIRC the way air conditioning works is by using cooling the freeon which runs through a bunch of hollow metal tubing. The ac unit then sucks in freash air and makes it pass through the cold metal tubing and therefore giving the air a cold charge. The AC condensor should only turn on when the freeon is getting too warm and thus needs to be cooled again. This is why it cycles on and off. I could be way off though, I have no HVAC training.

Yes, 1979-1994 = C900. I have one (1993 900S sedan) and just redid most of the AC system (reman compressor, receiver/dryer, low pressure switch, expansion valve). I did not replace the WOT cut-out switch but it's there.

Not too far off - compressor cycling is driven directly by high side pressure, not temperature. The compressor compresses until the high side pressure reaches an amount appropriate for the refrigerant then shuts off. As refrigerant cycles through the evaporator (regulated by an expansion valve), pressure on the high side drops until the compressor turns back on.

The expansion valve which controls refrigerant flow through the evaporator is temperature controlled.

Two other cars I previously owned had the same cut-out feature - a Pontiac Fiero and a Chevy S10 Blazer. I could tell the AC cut out during WOT because the output got warm real quick.
