Royal Purple Oil

Is anyone running this in their car? Notice a Fuel Economy increase?

This video about how it works is pretty neat. Theres only 1 store within 50 miles of me that stocks it

YouTube - Royal Purple Synthetic Oil Explained

....they say it will increase fuel economy.. wondering if anyone can back that up

That test has been recognized to be worthless for anything of importance.

I have used there Race oil XRP in my race eng for years. Good stuff for sure.

Never used there street oil.

If FE is what you want, forget RP oil.
Change how you drive for dramatic results

well what about amsoil? Their advertising makes me think that they just hire a bunch of bloggers web designers to build hundreds of website and post everywhere to spread the word, and it seems too good to be true.

I am switching to synthetic Royal Purple this month. Will have to see if it improves my mileage or not. I don't expect much.

Oil analysis results for years have proven Amsoil to be an excellent product. Both in shear durability and additive longevity. Arguably the best out there.

The problem I have with it (and red-line, RP etc) is that I have to buy it on line. Trans fluid and diff oil for me is fine to order on line, but something I need to do regularly, is a pita. I could buy it in 5 gal tubs, but psychologically it's too painful for me to spend that much on oil at one time. Nope, oil changes for me aren't fun, so therefore oil for has to be convenient to purchase such that I can get it over with in one easy shot.

I started running RP at my first oil change, and I just picked up more Monday and I'm waiting for a non-rainy day to change it again, the engine feels more responsive with the RP over regular oil.

Well, I just put RP 5W20 in my car yesterday and so did the misses. We will see what happens. We have a long (by long I mean 1600+ miles next week) trip from New Mexico to Virginia. I think that this will give some pretty good numbers. We will see how it goes. I average 35 MPG per tank. My wife gets about 35.5. She is in the manual. I put my muffler back on and stock intake for the trip. I am not sure how this will affect my mileage as I was VERY hard on my gas pedal when I had a better sound.
