Anyone else analyze their oil?

Would like to see other's results. I did my first one around 95k and it came back with 0.8% fuel (limit is under 2.0%). Started to wonder if it was a direct injection byproduct, so on the next oil change I was paranoid and smelled fuel pretty strong. Sent off another sample and it was fine.

I do change oil every 5000ish miles. Use Mobil 1 and Honda filters. On the first analysis he stated at 4600 miles the oil exhibited wear of a 8000 mile oil. I'm assuming that's because the poor little thing is always 3 to 4 grand on the highway. He didn't make comments on this one but most the numbers are pretty much the same..

Here's the results: http://www.sija.org/robs/fitoil2.png

There is some debate the way Blackstone calculates fuel in the oil vs other labs such as Oil Analyzers.

I would expect a lot better out of Mobil one!! Is it full synthetic? I guess as long as it was within viscosity and wear spec it doesn't really matter.

I got a blackstone kit for my Fit but it has since been wrecked so I will use it for the Pilot. I am curious how the Honda Semi-Synthetic does using the recommended oil change light on the car. I will also get a kit to send my GTI oil in to have it checked.

I send a sample out once a year for both the Fit and the Harley. So far nothing unusual to report on either, but I’m not posting results here out of fear of starting another argument.

Not me. You only get sleepless nights if you don't like the outcome.

Thanks everyone. USDM, our numbers are not a whole lot different. But again, not 100% sure what is supposed to be good and what is supposed to be bad.

It's full synthetic Moble 1. Rob H you got me a bit concerned with fuel measurement, but last time it measured 0.8.% fuel and the flash point was 360F. This time basically below detection and it was 380F. I'd assume more fuel would be lower flash point (he also indicated that on the last report). I'll do some more homework. There's a timely "Gas in my oil" thread now https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...as-my-oil.html so yeah.. might be a direct injection thing.

Don't think I'm gonna worry a bunch. Maybe some. Not a bunch

Your first mistake is your assumption that the data is accurate. You would challenge a radar or lidar scope in court if you got a speeding ticket, but you have no idea how your oil is analyzed.
