Thumbs down 2009 Honda Fit

So we here at Lumberton Honda, in Lumberton,North Carolina took delvery of our first 2009 Honda Fit in Nighthawk Black... i kept my slander to a minimum until i saw one with my own eyes... but this car is ****ing hideous... i understand every car has a bad generation like the 85 RX7, 86 CRX, 1989 Acura Integra, and so forth and so on... but i have never been so disgusted with a car so overall that it makes me sad to own one inside... every old person and their mom loves it... but i parked next to it intentionally and people were stillsayin they liked mine more cuz of the Hidizzles ad it being lowered... but this gen honda fit makes me F-wording sad to even say i own a fit.. thy took away everything! including the rear headrests! wtf?! they took away everything and gave it a nav system, worthless, and a Civic Steering wheel, well wtf is the point of that cuz for 3g less then they are selling the 08 Si's for you might as well make your payment go up 50 bucks a month a get a damn Si... all in all.. im saddened this day, and mainly... **** honda and their stupid ass design team... they can all shove a giant asimo up their ass. sorry if i offended but im disgusted. have a good day, my bathroom break is now over.

Lol...if this generation doesn't do well, the resale value of the 07-08s might not go down. That means Honda has already stopped producing 08's and it's going to be harder to find one.

Dunno...but I'm just trying to find something positive to say.

I dunno. I sort of like the idea of having the classic generation, and I'm not worried about the '09 whether it be better or worse. Hopefully it will do well, and be a huge success. But often cars are a matter of taste, and Honda has very thoughtful design.

Now taking out the back headrests? I did that on mine almost immediately to improve the visibility. I only put them back in when someone rides back there.

Look on the brightside... you have the Fit that you want.

its funny, but i wont get mad at you zr because we are local homies and thats not cool to be making enemies with the few local fit freaks i have.

i personally don't mind the looks, i actually like them.

but it is intersting to not how oldschool honda our fits are, and how 'new' honda (civic, accord) the new fit is.

at my work, we sold our first 2009 honda fit ssm in 2 days...i believe the market for this gen will be pretty demanding, especially with the gas prices around the US.

My wife and I just visited our dealer and saw an '09. Its style grows on a person the more you see it and sit in it. That comparison to an Si is unfair: the cars are in different classes. Our out-the-door price, with destination, tax, and plates for an automatic was $19,333. The Fit is a subcompact running on regular unleaded gas. The '08 car of the year in Japan is actually large in comparison to its peers there. In a few years, America's roads will be filled with more and more variations on the Fit.

Most angles I don't think it's too bad. However the side profile showing off the elongated nose of the USDM-spec bumpers and the rear shot just throw me off a little bit. The first thing I would do if I had an 09 would be to ditch those cheapy looking altezza-style tail laights for either the JDM LEDs or the standard JDM style ones, the stock US ones really kill the rearend.

The thoughts that come to my mind are:
  1. If you do not like how the '09 looks, why did you buy one?
  2. Why did you rush out and buy one of the first ones available if you don't like them?
I understand you are upset, but buying a car you detest... Who's fault is that?

FYI, the '09 Fit does have rear headrests -- they are required by law. They now can be slid down flush with the seat back for better rear visibility. Here's a link to a Honda picture of them.

Nuff said... sorry chris if i was beatig a dead horse... my phones interweb is just soo slow haha and i was held to a 15 min poop break or i would have searched
