I honor thy Fit...

The one Fit I see regularly does not appear to be ragged on at all. It is a BOM Sport and I believe the owner is perhaps in their 20's and is male. It resides in my condo complex.

The behavior of a lot of drivers saddens me. I have always respected my cars and other drivers on the road. I am a firm believer in what you put out - you will get back ten-fold. I experience this in my life constantly. I am sure my driving habits are annoying to alot of annoying people. People that make irresponsible choices and behave in reckless, selfish acts. They tend to be wasteful, unappreciative, unaware, rude, and keep my insurance premiums high.

Yes, I confess to be one who drives responsibly. Slower starts, driving the speed limits or no more than 5 mph over. You won't see me zig-zagging in traffic or cutting people off. Tailgating? Oh no, not this Fit Freak. I love my Fit and my life too much to inflict abuse on it.

F033x, I wish you weren't witnessing so much Fit abuse. It's a shame that there are people who take for granted what they have and treat it as such. Fortunately, my Fit has found a safe, peaceful home and will always be treated with love.

Im in az and my car isnt dented or anything. has a couple dings in the door cause idiots in parking lots dont know how to open their door without hitting mine. but anyways. sometimes i drive my car like i stole it and sometimes i drive my car normal. depends on the mood im in. i take off almost every stop light. to probably 5000 but not to red line. the fit is slow and i try to keep up with traffic.

<clapping> Yeah! What you said! I love my car and I want it to last and be pretty forever.

I also don't speed any more. I got busted last year for speeding in a school zone, and the ironic thing is that I NEVER speed in school zones, but I got distracted by morning radio and just didn't pay attention that morning...I went through that school zone 2 x day, 5 days a week, but that morning...of course there was a cop standing there with a radar gun...He made it worse by ticking off that I didn't have a front plate (torn off repeatedly by carwash). Then, the next day, I had to go and buy new plates and put them on, and that afternoon, I GOT PULLED OVER AGAIN! The cop ran my plates and said they didn't match the car. I was afraid he was going to cuff me! Poor guy, I was a real girl about it and cried...He was asking me, "Are you all right ma'am?"

I did the defensive driving course on line and I am grateful to the cop that pulled me over. Although the ticket cost me about $200 total, it really caused me to examine my driving habits and clean things up. I don't speed any more and I even come to FULL STOPS at stop signs. I'm a much better example for my 17-year-old, and that's a good thing.

But I still like to see who I can beat off the line!

I've noticed that to. I've had other car enthusiasts in general stop and talk to me about my car. you can always tell someone truly enjoies taking care of their car rather than just a POS that drive around with on a daily basis.

So many stupid drivers out there... I cant stand the people who speed and tailgate just to get somewhere one minute sooner. I'd say "grow up" but too many of them are soccer moms and guys in big trucks.

I am sweating it slightly. I've decided my current job is just not making me happy and their is way too much stress. So I decided to contact a
doctor who is a plastic surgeon - I've worked in this field for 26 years and truly enjoy it. Anyway, long story short I got the job offer and this means that I give up my 5 minute commute to go to a 30 minute commute and interstate driving. Which I don't like but what can you do? I have been able to keep the car clean and dent free so I will have to look around the new parking garage to make sure I can find a space that won't invite dings. I am looking forward to seeing if there are any more Fits on the road to the big city each day.

its about 50 50 for me. You see the usual kid who was given the car by his parents goin 85 plus in the fast lane or the older couple cruising in the 3rd lane over. What I have been seeing lately is the (sorry for swearing) bitch face girl with huge "movie star" sunglasses who tailgates everyone and swerved in and out of traffic in fits, oh wait i see that same girl driving tc's all over the place too.

i see the same "bitch face girl" driving her tC in orlando too lol..
as for me its the usual mid 30's age range usually NHPB or MR .. i'll admit its fun to drive "spirited". i like to see the looks on the guys with the civic or accord face when i pull on him in 3rd .. the tranny is what makes the car fun.. i follow the speed limit usually, but im so used to where i drive i know the spots cops are most likely to be so i speed selectively. its not a race car but hey its damn fun for a single cam 1.5

I am 47 years old. Not too old to drive fast, not too young to realize how quickly things can go wrong. (Had a bad motorcycle accident a couple of years ago, and my own mortality became pretty doggone apparent then.)

So, I do drive a bit fast, but that is not the same as beating on the car. I don't often take off too fast, but I do often run 79MPH for hours at a stretch. I have had the car up to 100MPH once, when it was about 2000 miles old.

The Fit is my only car, so it is my daily driver. It is coming up on 50,000 miles now. When I can afford a MINI, the Fit will still be my daily driver. As such, I feel that it's very iimportant to take good care of it. I still have 2.5 years of payments left. Don't want to be making the payments on a ragged-out piece of junk for the last year. That's why I bought a Honda in the first place. But even a Honda will respond badly to mistreatment.

Oh wow, you sound like me! I annoy people all of the time, but the minute some nut rear ends me, I think I will turn inside out!

My Fit ( We call her "Miss Fit") is always bright and shiney inside and out. Not my kids, nor my DH, leaves a sliver of trash inside Miss Fit. She gets a wash once or twice a month. I cringe when DH takes Miss Fit. He just does not love her the way I do. I got it used with only 12k miles. Had to pay like 13k, plus what I owed for my 4Runner, so to me it's not a cheapo car. I want to take care of it.

I live in a very small town. I have seen 4 or 5 other Fits. One old fella and I have bonded because of our Fits. We go to the same YMCA and had a great conversation in the parking lot comparing our Fits. Now, when I see him, we both wave

I may be the youngest of all the Fit drivers I have seen in my town.

I don't speed at all. I baby the thing over bumps while peering into my rearview mirror to see the big ass truck behind me looking like he might just piss on himself if he has to wait 5 extra seconds for me not to scratch the crap out of the front lip of my car. I just don't care. There are about 7 other Fits in town, but it's a big college town so it makes sense and they all seem to take care of them except for one that has a big dent in the back door. most seem to drive relatively okay and are all mid 20's to mid 30's.

i think fit drivers are angry.

at least the ones i see, but for a different reason.

they all have a case of ass face-ass attitude.

effing wave back for once.

every fit driver i see is like the king of douches.

we drive a quirky car, you should be quirky too. my conservatively styled rabbit got me more props from vw owners than my fit does from fellow fit drivers.

NO ONE on fit freak should suffer from ass-face, ass attitude syndrome imo. and if you do, get over yourself and enjoy your ride and the respect/props you are getting from your fellow fit drivers.

having said that, i have had about 3 people in other fits smile and wave and it made my day.

and i've had a few chicks @ drive-thru's tell me they dig the car, especially the color.

have seen a few abused fits though. just because its economical doesn't mean you should treat it like crap. appreciate what you have bitches.

lol i've waved at a couple of fits after i got mine and so far only one person has waved and smiled back at me.

i don't think i abuse my fit. the fastest i've driven is 80 cuz i don't want to get a ticket but at stoplights i'm always the first to take off but i dont floor my car, i guess everyone around me has a bad reaction time? thats what im guessing. I would also like to keep my fit clean, but haven't actually had the chance to wash my car yet, however some idiot decided to put his oily hand prints over my window in my apartment complex and now there's some random persons oily handprints all over my window sigh.

About a month ago I looked back in my rearview and all I saw was silver grill. Literally! Silver....Grill.... It was not until he raced past me that I saw it was this huge 4x4 red dodge. I was doing the speed limit and needed to be in the left lane because less than 1/8 a mile I had to make a left hand turn. Still, he was extremely aggressive with me.

I've waved at one Fit driver, but they did not wave back. Maybe they did not see me. I vow to wave at all Fit drivers, including my old buddy from the YMCA that drives a Fit too. Anyway, it's fun to wave at someone when they look at you like a deer caught in headlights. DUHHHHHHHH.....! HA!
