Cracking labels around the HVAC control dials.

I noticed today, the labels around the HVAC controls are all starting to crack and come unglued. Has anyone else had this situation? The local dealer is having a look at the mess next week.

not mine... defective, probably.

you might want to get the white (indigo like) ones from AJ Racing.

Exclamation I thought this was happening to mine . . .

but on closer inspection I found that the covers of these dash displays had a very thin film of protective plastic on them.

I'll bet that it was something that should be removed when a vehicle is prepped for sale, but was never done in my case.

It's similar to the film that covers parts of a brand new cell phone (displays, etc.) that are meant to be removed when the owner opens it.

I just peeled them off!

Hmmmm I think Kenji was sleeping when he applied the decals. Might be a good time to update the interior, thanks for the decal lead.

Cheers.

If so I am an idiot, just like I normally think when I see electronics with the protective plastic still applied years after the purchase date. Better check the VCR, it may be blinking 12:00. Am I getting old? Time to trade the Fit in for a Camry?

Checking the plastic theory right now....if I can remember why I went to the garage....

That's hilarious. I can't tell you you how many LCD displays, after owning a year, I've peeled the protective film away and gone "wow that is much clearer"! WTF was this thread about?

Had me worried there, no plastic on the dials. I am pretty anal about removing that stuff. Here is a pic of the cracking decals:

Everyone needs to check on this. I only noticed as I was talking on the cell phone, on hold I looked down and caught a glimpse of the cracks. I figured it was dust, I hope the photos get everyone checking. Massive Honda recall in the works for $20 worth of decals?

Frankly the AJ Racing ones look better.

It takes a week to get in for an oil change at the four Honda dealers in Calgary, this decal situation means my car is tied up for a day with two tasks which I could do in less than an hour.

I'll check! I'm pretty anal about details on the fit. During the 36 month BTB period I expect even outrageously tiny stupid stuff to be seen to. I'm glad you're looking and keeping us informed. I wouldn't expect a huge recall.
