Hi,

I live in the U.S. and am awaiting the Jazz/Fit release here. A few posts have made referrence to a redesigned next generation of the car. I'm wondering if anybody has any pics or knows anything about the next generation. Secondly, is there anyword on whether the U.S. version is going to be the version in production today or are we going to get the redesign?

You'll be waiting alot longer than Spring if it is the next generation model.

Pictures found elsewhere on this website show it to be the same as current model with redesigned bumpers (to meet US safety requirements) and not yet announced engine (1.3L DSI and/or 1.5L VTEC), transmission (5 speed manual and/or CVT and/or CVT with 7 speed mode) and trim levels. Your initial shipments are coming from Japan with future production coming from elsewhere - possibly China, Thailand, South Americia or if its a big hit possibly production will be setup in one of the US factories. This however could be years away if ever.

US and Canada are already about the last countries on the planet to get this vehicle released in Japan in 2001. Most of the rest of the world got some variant of the car in 2002 and alot of places only got the VTEC version more recently.
