Fit for kayaks
hi Ultrawolf, can you share a picture of the Fit with just the Inno rack & Bars (no cargo)? just wondering what it looks like bare in the times that I am not carrying cargo (Aka this is an aesthetical/superficial question).
also, how easy it is for one to load on/off the bars?
also, do you have a lock system in place with the inno rack?

Load on/off -- If you mean to load cargo on the bars, it's easy if you have the strength to lift whatever you're loading up as high as the bars. If you mean install/uninstall the rack, it's quick and easy if you mark the the bars to indicate the exact width to set the feet at, and mark the car to locate front/back position (I made small marker marks inside the door frames).
Locks -- The Inno comes with free locks. But they're flimsy and supposedly you can pry them open with a screwdriver. I've read that Thule and Yakima locks are no better though. As usual, just a deterrent for honest people. A crook will get your rack if he wants it.
hi, thank you for the clear reply, Ultrawolf.
I certainly won't keep my bars on "around town" but I'll probably keep the stays on.
From your previous experience (sorry, one more question
) how do I know what wind fairing size to get for my 2012 fit? INNO offers 32" 39" and 49", and they have 50" bars

oh so the bars + the stays have to be on together for proper retention? thanks.
i've read that on some forum posts re: the fairings. my understanding was that logically, the fairings = cut down on noise on the highway which should = aerodynamicity = better MPG. i didn't know it was detrimental

Hi All - has anybody put both a canoe and a kayak on top of a Fit? I'm trying to find a roof rack solution for this...

I'm leaning toward Inno (based on Ultrawolf's posts), but am trying to figure out what width I need.
