Dog Safety / '09 Fit

What have you folks done/purchased for your Fit?

Honda Japan has a Honda Dog site, but I can't figure out how to purchase their little dog carrier. (I'm not really sure if I want to spend $100 bucks on it, but I'd still like to find a way to purchase it, just in case)

And seat cover, though I have a different one --

You dont' have to get all fancy. I keep my black lab in this harness and it just fastens into the seatbelt, http://www.petco.com/product/9432/Fo...Harnesses.aspx , they make smaller ones though.

As far as a seat cover, just get a twin size fitted sheet and it fits perfectly over the whole back seat, and you can customize it however you want and just pull it out to wash it.

My dog (about 80 lbs of Franch Mastiff-American Bulldog Mix) just sits in the trunk. We had a harness at first, but he chewed through it Now we have a cover for the back seat plus the trunk tray. Works just fine for us!

trunk tray also. In fact, our dogs (2-60ish lb mutts) fitting in the back was a deciding factor for us buying our fit. but that probably doesn't help you. I do know that babies r us sells a seat cover (i think ~$20) if you want to go a little up scale without mailing off to Japan.

I ended up getting a large quilted moving blanket for protection when my dogs are in the car. I got 2 for $15 off ebay and they are great.

Mine are similar to this:
Quilted Moving Blankets, 5 lb. Medium Weight

I just put my dogs' soft crates on top of that and we are ready to go.
