Automatics only available at first?

I went to my local dealership last week to put a deposit down for a Fit Sport. The manager told me that all of the Fits being sent to their dealership were automatics. He called the sales rep and she said that as far as she knew, the automatics would be released in April, but the manual/standard model won't be available until late May. They told me that since they don't have much information, it may just be that this specific dealership isn't getting any manuals. It wouldn't be an issue except I have $700 tax credit from my parents sellling their TL, that expires in mid April. Has anyone had this problem, or have you been able to order a manual and have it arrive in April?

I called my local dealer last week also, one of them anyway and they told me they are getting two sports in the middle to late March but both are automatic or else I would have put a deposit on one of them. He said and im not sure if this applies to all Honda dealers or just this one but they can only look a month ahead to see what they will be getting in so end of February or beginning of March im gonna call again to see if they are getting anything in the beginning of April.

I think it just depends on which they initially ordered. It seems that most dealers are ordering fully loaded Sports with automatics, since its the most expensive version.

my dealership is getting Sports Auto, Base Auto, and one Manual but unsure which version. Dealer trading will be out of control for the right car for the right person. 85% of all Fits in the NA market will be Auto is what I heard from Honda of America

My dealer said they were getting a base model with a manual so I put a deposit on it but not sure what color I will get.

I guess I should have waited a day before I started this topic. My friend, the salesman I dealt with, called me today and told me that my Fit was scheduled to be built on March 20th. He told me that it usually takes a month for delivery. I should have my manual Fit sometime in mid to late april. Still waiting for pricing though.

I'm sure some manuals can be found. When I bought my Element the two closest Honda dealers only had Automatics (between them they had 10-12 of 'em, most were orange EXs) Even so we managed to get a green manual LX from a dealer in another state. just had to wait a week.
