April 20th.

That depends on the individual dealer. Several people have posted that they preordered their Fit. My local dealer is not putting people on a waiting list. He says he will call me when they get a car in, but I'm going to check with other dealers just in case he doesn't follow through.

The e-mail I got was directly from Honda. I have been talking with my local dealer and they set to get 2 auto-sports and 1 manual-sport. If it's not the color of my liking. I will special order it.

I've done both. I first contacted him by phone, then last week I went to see him in person. He said I could call each Monday and he would let me know what they have coming in that week, but I called yesterday and he didn't return my call. I guess he's not to anxious to sell me a car.

I got the same e-mail from having joined the Society of Fit on the US Honda website; in addition to no pricing, there's no confirmation of colors, either in the e-mail or in the revised official Fit website. Strange.

I think we're all going to get different responses because we're all dealing with different personalities / dealers. The fleet manager @ Pacific Honda in SD told me the Fit will arrive at the end of March. I'm sure many of our sales reps just make up numbers because A) they don't have any idea when its coming out or b) what they've heard is just word of mouth.

Not sure how many people have put down deposits on a Fit already and I dont know exactly when the bulk of the first batch of car's will be coming in and where but I have put down a deposit and I know the date my ordered car is being built which is next week, the 23rd. From the date it is built to the day it arrives to the US takes anywhere from 3 weeks to a month so Honda's claim of April 20th based on that is pretty accurate.

My Fit was built 03/03/06
My basic Vivid Blue 5-speed was built on the 3rd of March. I bought an S2000 on December 3rd that car was built 5-6 weeks before when it arrived. Since the S2000 and the Fit are built in Japan, the 5-6 week delivery time to the East Coast is accurate. This would bring us into the middle of April. So April 20 intro seems reasonable on the East Coast.

Honda has it posted for an April 20th release. If a dealership doesnt have it at that time then it would be becuase of the transport system that is used to deliver the vehicles. Dealers actually do not control the drivers schedules so the delivery dates may vary some.

I think that is what I want--blue base, 5 speed. I guess I will take white or red if I can get it. I can wait awhile: my 11 year old Prizm isn't going anywhere. I want to drive a Fit first before I plunk down any cash.

If I still had a scanner, I'd scan it in... but I don't.
It'll be here soon enough. Remember, you'll get no deal if you plunk down money before the car even shows up... patience.
