Redesign
Hiii
new around here, I was just wondering if anyone could clear this question up for me. I have heard talk about the redsign of the fit in 2008 and I was wondering if they were going to carry over this change into the soon to be realeased 2007 north american version? Just seems awfully quick to me.
thanks for any info

This is what Wikipedia has to say:
"Although the Jazz is now one of Honda’s global models, it experienced a very slow progression as it made its way around the world. The car first debuted in June 2001 in Japan. It was then introduced to Europe (early 2002), Australia (late 2002), Brazil and South America (early 2003), Thailand and South-East Asia (late 2003), China (mid 2004), and Mexico (late 2005). A production model for the United States and Canadian markets debuted on January 8, 2006 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The car will be released in the US and Canada in April 2006. Unlike most Honda models, which traditionally have 4 or 5-year model cycles, the current generation Jazz will remain around for a longer period of time thanks to the late release in North America."
The Jazz is produced in 5 factories throughout the world. Suzuka (Japan), Sumaré (Brazil), Guangzhou (China), Ayuttaya (Thailand), and Karawang (Indonesia).
Every factory must be retooled for a new model.

Considering the "old car" is now new in the NA market what's to say Honda doesn't replace the Jazz/Fit in a market by market pattern. JDM one year, EU the next and NA in an additional step. Where's it written in stone that ALL plants must be updated at the same time? There's numerous market specific models that NA doesn't get and also some exclusive to NA. Also the NA model has some very specific differences from other markets - yet those changes haven't been made for other countries...i.e. bumpers/engine/auto 5 speed/cruise etc.
The Accord in the one market is very different to the Accord Euro in other markets except Australia where we get both. The Odyssey is very different in the US to the very sexy vehicle made in Japan and sold in Australia. Then there is the Civic. The European hatch and the American sedan but looks like Honda Australia will do the right thing recently indicating they will bring us the real 2007 Type R hatch and regular hatch as well as the current sedans. None of this Si business.
