I haven't driven the xD or the '09 Fit yet (I'd like to drive both soon). I think both cars have their attributes. I will say, however, that it's a pretty bold move for Scion to go directly after the Fit. Then again, I think Scion needs to make some bold moves in order for the brand to keep its image strong. Since the introduction of the larger, thirstier, and more expensive xB, the Scion brand appears to have moved away from its core. The original xB (and xA to a lesser extent) had quite a following and a huge aftermarket (I owned a first-gen xB). Since its introduction, and subsequent introduction of the xD, the brand doesn't seem to have the appeal it did. Although, I will say, I like the xD a lot more than the current xB.

Well, Scion/Toyota going after the Fit is sort of like political candidates during a campaign:
"That other guy is a liar and a butt bandit!"
When the truth is, all politicians are in it for the power, and to have their names recorded in the history books.
Any Honda or Toyota product is likely to give you many years of good service, IF you take care of them. To me, the Fit was just a lot better, um, fit than the xA, albeit at a higher price. And yeah, Juliane, the center-mounted gauge cluster was a killer for me, too. That being said, I would still trade even for a nice MINI, centered gauges and all!

hee hee look what i started, a poll on another site.

few things though.

1. i don't know what you are talking about juliane, but the last xa i drove rode more softly than the fit. the fit is bumpy, plain and simple. if you are going to call out the xa, call it out on the fact its roughly the same size as the fit on the outside, but UNlike the fit, has absolutely NO ROOM WHATSOEVER on the inside. and the hatch is a joke.

2. i see the appeal of dealer parts, who doesn't? i just didn't like the snarky-ness of the add.

3. kelso: how are mugen parts being available for the ge making the fit a joke? because its a ge and you don't like them?

and the hot topic thing was funny...but to that stores defense i see all TYPES of people walking in there, including myself, because sometimes they have a cool thing or two. (ahem zelda t shirts)

The delivery would have been lost if I attempted to list every possible person that could shop there.

I voted as well... FIT ftw!

Although I don't like the Scions, that ad did have a punch to it. I kind of like that line about voiding the warranty

FIT ftw!

keep voting guys. even if the scionites win, i know it doesn't change the fact that the fit is better, but bragging rights on top of that is even better.

Well everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. I think my Fit rides better than the xA I drove, by far. YMMV.

True on the other issues. It was merely a very small car on the inside. With a hard and jarring suspension.
