The review made it sound like using the paddle shifters made fuel economy worse.
On a similar topic, can you drive in full auto? Or do you HAVE to use the paddle shifters? I've had no experiance with paddles so I don't know...

Enlightenment appreciated

You don't need to use the paddle shifters. There is a regular "D" drive function, a "S" sport setting which will rev out the engine more before shifting, or you can use the paddles. the AT doesn't get as good of mpg as the MT. Just a slight difference.
