I saw the Fit today !
Just got back from Carter Honda, they have one Honda Fit, its the Black Sport automatic, and they just got it today. It loooks really good! He showed me how the seats fold back and forth and it definitly has a lot of room, even in the trunk for the size of car. I was really impressed with it. So i have the low-down on the colours for Canada too. He showed me the official Fit brochure they just got. There are two silvers, one is alabaster silver which is the light silver, the other is storm silver which is the dark silver or grey. Then there is the bright blue, the bright red, the orange and the black. There was no white and no light blue. The interiors either come in grey or black...and Sports have black interiors, all DX's and LX's have grey interiors. They will be getting in more throughout the week but cannot sell them until April 1,2 or 3rd (wasnt quite sure) because thats when they will get their financing and leasing rates from honda. The cars have the J in the VIN therefore are being made in Japan. Thats all for now.

he quoted me $16350. i really wanted to see the orange one before deciding. he's claiminig this is the only vin they've gotten so i'd be the first to get one in my area. i wonder hoa many people are being told that!
has anyone seen the orange? is it bright like a true orange or darker like copper?
what is your opinion the price? my other option is buying in oregon where there is not sales tax and i think tags are cheaper. i will be moving there in a couple of months, but i'd have to wait untill late april to get a car from there. currently my fiance is driving me everywhere cuz m subaru kicked off 2 weeks ago. blah
opinions wanted! thanks

How old was your Subaru? My Accord Wagon, 1995, conked just shy of 280,000 miles last week. It has engine problems and my mechanic said it was time to give up on it. Before I looked up the Fit on the Honda site, I was considering the Subaru Outback/Legacy, but couldn't afford a new one. A 2002 I test drove was noisy (80,000 miles). A co-worker has a nice Legacy she got at a great price through a family friend. I test drove a Vibe and was impressed at how well it handled. I didn't take it out on the highway, though, and I heard the Matrix engine drones loudly at higher speeds. I do a lot of highway driving and ruled out the CR-V because it was too noisy as soon as I got it up to highway speed.
Fit gets 49miles/Gal in Canada
Just checked out the Fit in Richmond Honda, according to the sticker, the FIT gets 35mil/gal city and 49mil/gal HWY. I don't know if its different calculation then the on US FIT. If so we're getting a better deal in Canada.
If someone can show me how to insert photos in the the forum, I can attach the picture of the sticker I took from the FIT.

i test drove a matrix last month. is was bit loud on the hwy, but really it didn't bother me. you should here the noise my subaru's bee making for the past year...lol i would probably own the matrix right now if it didnt have such a major blind spot for me. though i'd been researching the fit since about october, there hadnt been word on when it would be out in usa yet. after the blind spot, i decided to take time to think on the matrix, and in the meantime found out the fit release dates. so now i'm waiting for the fit. though the matrix will be a second choice.
my fiance's buddy works on cars and said the vibe is the exact same ar as the matrix. it's just on certain days of the week factories slap "vibe" on them, and other days, "matrix" (basically)
good luck! if i had my way i'd have a pink fit , like ive seen in japan pics~!

I saw the car at Richmond Honda B.C. Canada.
I test drove the car and the power wasn't as bad as I thought. I think it is as fast as the previous gen 1.7L Civic. It handles ok and ofcuz it is no where close to my s2k but for a little car, it is a bit better than Echo 5r. (JDM Vitz). The 5AT Sport mode is quite fun to use but when you downshift, it wasn't very smooth (it chokes).
Cars are available at all Honda dealers NOW
except Blaze Orange (Sports) so which means I am still waiting for the car to come
