Drove up the block to the Toyota dealer and purchased 2 new Rav 4's 26/30 mpg, and real luggage space.
Goodbye Honda and your bleed and gouge markups.

Yup, what a piss off. Stupid dealers. That is such a **** over. Why is that legal? Is the price not listen at Honda.com?

that's absolutely true that the FIT really has no competition.
One test drive and you will fall in love.

I've been to two SW Florida dealerships and have put deposits of $500 at two for "right of first refusal" when the next shipments of unknown origin come in. Test drove a black stick Sport, it was very cool but my stick shift driving had the salesman terrified! A hungry Sarasota sales rep called me today to say that a blue Sport model came available when the "blue haired" potential buyer balked at the color. I've done my research and will be firm with him about the value of my 2003 Civic Galapagos Green LX and what I'm willing to pay (or not pay) for the Fit. I do want this car, but I'll wait for it if necessary. If he's really HUNGRY, he can have my business. Hopefully 24 hours from now I'll have my car with "magic seats!"

Question More News Items on the Fit

A mini Fit for India!

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=115545

Don’t agree with the wind noise comment in this next article. Except for noisy tires, which was also a problem with my Accord wagon, the Fit is quieter than most cars I’ve driven. I felt some wind gusts out on the highway, but then so did much bigger vehicles with a high profile. I've seen some of those top heavy SUVs getting blown around on a bridge!

Answer column is next – 3rd item on a Fit competition comparison. He could have done a much better job in responding to the question. Wonder if he’d seen the Fit frontal crash test report.

You may have seen this one already. Test driver apparently thinks they’ll rectify “minor shortcomings” in the next 2 years – but I bet the price will go up, too!

Downsizing?

This article says so!

and here's another comparison article that says the choices make downsizing easy and fun:

I've been posting article links in the car comparison thread, but this thread seems to be neglected lately. Here's a batch dated after my last post, with headings so you know what they're about:
