Question Sunroof/Moonroof

Hi,

First post to the Forum.

I am interested in getting a Fit this fall, but ONLY if I can get it with a factory sun/moon roof. Does anyone have an idea if they will have this option by then?

No sun/moon roof, no Fit for me.

Thanx, guys.

no option from the factory, but you could always get a good aftermarket model.

What's wrong with an aftermarket sunroof?

Just a question out of curiosity... does adding an aftermarket sunroof hinder the performance of the car?

Some people, myself included only want factory. Some gets kicks out of modded cars, I get kicks from cars restored to factory specs. Different folks.

Possibly. Shown below is a picture of the frame of the car. You'll notice a cross beam right where you would want a sunroof. If you had to cut that cross beam it would probably effect the rigidity of the chassis in a negative way.

Yeah I would love a factory sunroof. I dont care about the added weight either.

There is no way I would ever add an aftermarket sunroof. I dont trust someone cutting a hole into the roof of my car.

Cut a hole in the roof and your messin' with your warranty especially if the aftermarket installer has a shaky (but unknown to you) reputation.

You play around with the car's structural integrity at your own risk....and cost!

There's a 1992 Civic DX HB in my driveway with an aftermarket popup sunroof. The damn thing leaks and you can hear wind noise.

I've yet to see a factory Honda/Acura sunroof that leaked (unless one of the drain tubes was clogged) or caused windnoise.

There's no way to make an aftermarket sunroof perfectly flush with the roof, tricky to get one with the perfect curve to match the roof.

Then there's the interior trim.
