Doesn't look that bad. Just take your time. Unless you've never done anything like it. In which case, the dealer might be the best bet.

Does the link allow connection to all iPods or just newer ones?

My understanding from 06 Civic owners is that the software only works with gen 4 and newer ipods - however you can get basic shuttle function out of older ones - just not all the pin functions (charge etc...)

Well, at least those instructions tell you how to take the head unit out...

Don't really understand why you have to mark off the places where the cables come out (for the HVAC controls)???

Okay, that really sucks. Anyone know if the 2nd Gen ipod mini is included in that?

Damn, and I was planning on putting my old 3G into my car so as not to have to buy a new battery for it...

Seems like Honda still made it just as fookin' hard to change the stock HU as with the rest of the world. lol.

Trust me, it's a right bitch to pull the stock panel out.

Well you can plug it in and let the stuff hang around or you can make it look clean and OEM...

Well, that was kind of the point - I wanted the iPod to look cleaner in the car. But if the iPod connector won't support my 3G iPod or 2G mini, then screw it, I'll just live with the cig lighter charger/mini-to-mini solution.

Well I mean it really doesn't look that hard. I mean I'm around installing auto parts all the time. So maybe that is why LOL...

I was hoping the 3G ipod compatability was just a rumor, but this confirms it:

It may seem petty, but this may be a deal breaker for me.

Don't blame Honda - Apple keeps changing the ipod OS and this is the kind o' krap that happens...

i dont blame honda at all, but the monster icruze is completely compatible with ANY ipod with a dock connector. Im not big on the idea of buying a new car and immediately having to install aftermarket accessories.
