I am sold on Fit!

I just came back from vacation in Brazil. I have never seen so many hatch-back, subcompact cars in a city! Fiat, Citron C3, Ford, Chevy, Renault, Preguet 206....you name it, they have it in Brazil looks like. And the most amazing fact is that Fit is everywhere.

I am not sure whether the Fit is made in Brazil but Honda is in general very expensive there. This is my first time to see Fit in person and see different colors parking next to each other on the street. It looks spacious compare with other subcompact and actually BIG when put next to Benz A190! I can say Fit is very popular in the city of Sao Paulo. The model seems to be the "base" model with no fog lights, rear spoiler, and side skirt. I didn't get chance to visit the dealer to see what options they offer in South America.

I am sold on this car!

They are indeed made by Honda in Brazil for South America; here's their retail website: http://www.honda.com.br/web/index.asp?pp=carros&id=6

I also see an ad for the 2007 model, it gets the side mirror indicator feature. I don't think the US model get this.

Depending on how much I am out and about, I see probably 20-50 Jazzes a day. There are usually 3-4 parked right in front of my office. I think it is more like hell, since I can't buy one here. Remember the thirsty guy with water up to his neck, but everytime he bent down for a drink, the water would recede out of reach? I can't wait for December when I leave, but then I will be leaving here. Oh the conundrums...

Yes but remeber when you compare the NA Fit to all the rest - ours might not have the fancy lights and shorter bumpers- BUT it is the most safe model of all!

I think the side marker lights are way cool, but are not the front turnsignals designed in a way that allows them to be seen from the side/rear. That being said, there are a few LED turnsignals designed for motorcycles that could be a nice addition, providing you don't mind putting holes in your bodywork. I like the ones from Gregg's Customs. http://www.greggscustoms.com/prod_honCBR1000.html. Competition Werkes is also supposed to have a set available soon (or already).
