Extra Tinting, cost estimate
If you live in socal, i know a few excellent places that will do it for like 1/2 the price of dealerships. In general, dealerships will massacre you for parts and labor. I got my old protege5 done for $170 (7 windows) a while back, with lifetime warranty. The whole job only took about 40 minutes too.
One of the reasons I wanted a tint was that it gets to like 120 in Riverside in the summer, so I was hoping to keep the car cooler inside. I don't know if the tint didn't do anything or if it actually kept the car a few degrees cooler, but the car was still unbearably hot after being parked in the sun for a few minutes.
As for visibility, you get used to it. Living in southern california, the benefits of having the back window tinted to protect from n00b drivers that drive with their highbeams on on the freeway is worth the price, in my opinion. Keep in mind that having the driver and passenger windows tinted is illegal in Cali.
