At that point, I would have asked to speak to the owner. My exact words to them would have been "This sorry asshole's attitude just cost you a sale."

IIRC, my wife and I walked away (pissed) from three different dealerships when we were shopping for a new car. At one of them, (Oxmoor Toyota) I had already gotten a price in writing before coming in and I was ready to buy. I spoke with a sales person and told them to start the paperwork, that I didn't care what color the car was, and that I only had xx minutes until the bank closed for the evening. He wandered off and didn't return (from their OTHER lot) for over 1/2 an hour, after going and getting the car for me to TEST DRIVE. Moron. We were driving away as he pulled into the lot with it.

i read the article. very good information.

i think i was little confused when it said the customer over paid by 1k?
isnt the 1k the down payment?
so that should have been put towards the price of the car, but it said the customer over paid.
