rear end collision

I have a question about the ability to properly fix the back hatch after a rear end collision. I've had my FIT for less than 2 months when it happened and my hatch still won't close the same way after the second attempt ti fix it, am I out of luck?

Who tried to fix it? Our old Acura GSR was backed into another vehicle and just dinged the hatch. The body shop replaced it. They couldn't align it after the accident. Don't know if that is relevant to your situation or not. Apparently it doesn't take much damage.

Good luck.

Cheers.

I had a rear-end collision against a bus myself a little over a year ago. Basically the whole rear hatch had to be replaced as it was so bent out of shape, however the hinges held up fine. I gained a hatch wing, smoked LED tail lights and a JDM VTEC rear bumper in the process thanks to insurance

After the repair, I have no alignment problems with the hatch at all. My problems concern keeping rust buildup at bay. Unfortunately, in my experience it tends to sprout in places that aren't easily accessible such as under the interior trim and under the big rubber gasket sealing the hatch opening.

Hope this helps

hey thanks, I haven't tried opening it since the last fix (12 hours ago) because the glue on the weather stripping was still setting. I am hoping that air flow was the problem, but neither my husband or I have had luck getting cars fixed in the small town we live in. Maybe we should move back to San Diego, but for the weather of course......

Hide. Duke's coach K resents your inpersonating him.

Otherwise drop by a gpood body shop. Getting a good closure isn't easy.

I am called coach "k" by an old coach of mine, whom I became an assistant to, and I told him not to insult the real coach "k" because all I can do is aspire to be as good of a coach as he is, so in that name I aspire to be as great.....
