I picked the phone on my 53rd birthday, called Honda, started talking, deal was done that day, and silver MT was mine a week later. Honda snowblower, Honda boat motor, and last year bought my wife a CRV. When a honda motor doesn't work, I try to figure out what I've done wrong.
Hope this does not discourage all the teenifitters, but the friend of a friend in Montreal has just replaced her aged Civic with a Fit,she is 80 yes eighty, when asked why an 80 year old woman would still need a car, her reply was she still has a country place, and needs to get to it.
50 years old. Drove a geezer car (2003 Crown Victoria Sport). Gave that to my wife and traded in her car for a Vivid Blue Sport 5MT with the 16" wheels and tires, sport muffler, (so maybe not yet quite a geezer!!).

I may be the youngest I'm 15 going to be 16 in June , My parents and I were at the Honda dealership to look at used civics (1/2 bday gift 1/2 work transportation) When the car transport showed up with 2 silver Fits (a base and a Sport). While we were test driving the civic they were pulling the sport into the showroom, it was only $3k more than the used civic It was a no brainer I got the sport.(april18th they weren' supposed to sell em til the 26th) Now I have to work for the rest of my life.UGH!! but I got one of the first fits, already moddin it out so no one says "its cute"

Not my fault public transport in Hong Kong came every 2-5 minutes. (Nor the 60-100% car sales tax over there). Ignore the fact that I didn't get a license in the four years I've lived here too.

37. I was wondering what some of us older owners drove when they were teenagers.

I'm 57 going on 15 and I've got a storm silver Fit on order from our Honda dealer here in Key Largo. Just as a note of reference, we could "afford" a much more expensive car, but I'm not sure my butt would really know the difference! And besides, I'm not sure new Mercedez owners are having as much fun as you all. To say the least, I enjoy reading about your excitement concerning your new cars. My wife says she's going to get me a BMW when I hit 65. I hope I'm excited about that as I am about her new Fit! Good luck to you all!!!
I'm 59, but just on the outside. HA My first car was a 1958 Ford 4-door, with a big V-8 engine and a 3 speed stick shift, that I bought when I was in the Air Force in Roswell (!) New Mexico. I was 19 at the time. After I got out of the service, the '58 croaked so I got a 1966 Ford Falcon, with a straight 6 motor and 3 speed manuel. (3 speeds were the norm back then, usually a column shift, which we called "3 on the tree".) Next was my first new car, a 1971 Ford Pinto, with the 4 speed & 2000 CC motor. I really liked that little car. It was my first 4 cyl and first small car. Bought it late 1971 and I added a header exhaust and different intake manifold, and ignition mods. It was capable of around 17 seconds flat in the 1/4 mile at around 78 MPH. I raced it at a couple of tracks in Los Angeles (Lions Drag Strip & the old Irwindale Raceway). Then a 1976 Toyota Corolla SR-5 liftback (2nd new car), with a HEMI 4 cyl & 5-speed trans. It was slow but nice blue paint & a white interior. Lessee, then the Ford Fiesta, 1600 CC motor & 4 speed. It was a 1978 model that I got in late 1977. I liked that little car, it was "zoomy" and fun to drive. Then my baby, 1986 Honda Civic Si, 5 speed, fuel injected motor, 1600 CC I think, got it new and it was such a great car!!
Had it until 1999, 193,000 miles on it and sold it cuz we bought my current ride, the Weak Dawg Toyota Tacoma pickup, 2400 CC with automatic. It really is a useful little truck, extended cab, and nice driving in Phoenix traffic with the auto. But it's just so gutless. Arghhh I do get up to 23 MPG in town so that's not bad. Has a nice sound system and good A/C, so I live with it. I have to admit that I'm torn between the Fit and the Civic. Even tho I drive a Toyota, I'm still a Honda guy at heart. Maybe it's good that I drive the Weak Dawg, cuz my right foot is still 20 pounds heavier than the left one......

I asked my Honda dealer today when I went in for a test drive (but they had just sold out of the FIT so I had to settle for the Civic) if he knew the FIT has been sold in Europe and Asia before as the Jazz, and he had no idea.
And I had no idea it had been for that long. I thought maybe just a few years.
